His Life

Tye left the following poem for us to reflect on:

Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me.

I want no rites in a gloom filled room.  Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we once shared.  Miss me but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone.

It all a part of the master plan, a step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know,

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.  Miss me but let me go.

A View of Tye's Life

Tye was born in 1931 in Toronto Ontario.  He was very athletic and scholastic and during his high school years played football for the Malvern Collegiate's team.  After high school he started dating Shirley Flannery and got the first job of his career, as a sales person.  Tye and Shirley married in 1954. Within a few year, they had three children, Judy, Steve and Vince.  As the children were growing up, Tye was working his way up the career ladder and got the position of VP of Operations title of FMC Bramalea.   About that time, there was an addition to the family and John was born, making the family complete.  After many yrs at FMC, Tye made a career change to Boberick (Scarborough) as Operations and Facility Manager, where he remained until his retirement in 1995.  After his retirement, Shirley and Tye moved up to the Orillia area, where they enjoyed their retirement years.  After Shirley passed away in 2014, Tye found new joy, love and companionship with Mary.  They enjoyed 3 yrs of trips and happy times together until he succumbed to cancer.
