Hey Tyler, just been thinking about you the past few days and playing with Corbin, I know you would’ve enjoyed his laughter and smile. Just want you to know that all that you taught me will help guide me in the way I raise my son. You were tough but you loved us dearly and cared for mom so much. I miss you and love you.

Rayno and I were very saddened to learn of Tyler's passing.  We had the opportunity to purchase their beautiful home several years ago in Blue River Valley Ranch Estates in Silverthorne. He and Deb put a great deal of love and talent in to creating this lovely house and he could not have been kinder or more helpful in the transition of ownership. While we didn't know Tyler well, what we did see in him was a joie de vivre, a love for Deb and his family, and a talented and engaged man who grabbed plenty of brass rings. He is surely gone too soon but, in viewing the memorial slideshow, he sure did pack in a great deal of fun and love and friendship in his life. Sympathies to Deb and his entire family. Keep him tight in those memories you will always have.

I have to agree with what everybody’s been saying about Tyler. I was a Bowl patroler also and had the pleasure of lodging up at Solitude with him and his trusty dog ‘Bud’, who was probably the coolest dog I’ve ever met in my life -went with the coolest guy and I’ve ever known and I can say w/o question that he was THE MOST DRIVEN guy I ever met!  During my periodic return visits, I always got a big bear hug from him, and, for being a flatlander I really appreciated that. Proud to have been a friend over the years. Part of the lodging arrangement usually involved that I was put to work, which I excepted and then got to see how he operated.Taught me how to back up a trailer, his advice was to “put that boat in the water!” I survived the peer pressure - I recall it was “the beer is on ice and the girls are in bikinis!” relished any chance to visit. Seeing and being with him and Deb when the Broncos won the Super Bowl was really great. He always bent over backwards to get me equipped so I could enjoy the slopes upon arrival. We’ll just have to soldier on without him. Will miss you, buddy. Hope to see you again someday.

I worked with Tyler on the “Bowl Patrol” at Copper Mountain 1979 - 1983. He was always so full of life, he had that contagious laugh that I’ll never forget. When he told stories like when a pine marten was in his closet when he lived at Solitude Station, the story got bigger every time and we all just laughed harder as the story grew. He was bigger then life! Sending prayers to his family, what a void he has left but also How lucky we were to have him in our
Lives, there’s no one quite like Tyler MYERS!

Kristie and I remembered Tyler from when we both came to Copper Mountain in 1979. He was a friend who we skied with and at different times worked for in his cleaning and maintenance businesses. Tyler would be there to support us at our wedding as he was in the beginning of all of our adventures. Just a few years ago we jointly rented the largest houseboat available on Lake Powell and took all of our families. Tyler was tireless in taking the teens and pre-teens out to water ski. He did so while suffering great pain and we will miss him so much.

I realized what a good guy my brother Tyler was when he started sending my Mom Roses at work, sometimes for no particular reason. When Ty wanted to do something he always worked hard and found a way to get it done. His love of the outdoors began when he joined Outward Bound to learn how to survive in the wilderness. After Outward Bound, he enrolled in the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) He wanted to build on the experience.

For many years I have watched Tyler set, then achieve, one goal after another. He like to ski, so he moved to Summit County and lived in his Camper on BLM land. He wanted a job at ski resort (Copper Mountain). He started shoveling snow for them. Before long, he was in charge of building maintenance. He decided to start a small side company to handle the daily cleaning and swapping-out of all the floor mats at the resort. He bought equipment, rented a small space, bought hundreds of floormats, and started working 12-hour days to make it succeed. Before long had developed other customers and ended up developing one of the most successful carpet cleaning and flood restoration business in Summit County.

There were a couple of important people in Tyler’s life that had a positive impact and helped him set goals. Tom Needham was one of Tyler’s fist employers. He worked so hard, and did so well, helping Tom run his Dry Cleaning and Tuxedo Rental company that teenage Tyler was often left in charge of the whole operation. Chuck Bristol was also a great friend and role model to Tyler. He helped him realize many of his goals. Chuck regarded Tyler like his own family and many of Tyler’s values came from his relationship with Chuck.
Tyler was an original self-made man, if there ever was one. I loved him, I admired him, and I will forever miss him. My brother was a kind and gentle man—I am proud to be his sister.

Both Jon and I will always remember Tyler’s wonderful smile and contagious laugh. We will dearly miss him, and will always remember what a gift he was to us and our children . I was lucky to know the Myers family when I went to Aurora Central High School. Patty, Tyler’s sister, was a friend of mine and Tyler was too ❤️❤️. We are so sorry that we will be out of town during the memorial but send our love to all of Tyler’s families.

We first met Tyler in 2010, when we organised a Home Exchange with Deb and Tyler in Australia. We had a meal with them the night before we departed for Colorado. My first impression of Tyler was a man who was extremely genuine and fun loving. Despite the issues with his back, he was determined to continue enjoying those things which were important to him. His relationship with Deb was obvious, totally committed to each other.
We maintained contact and caught up with Tyler on three successive trips to Colorado and Utah. Tyler always wanted to make our stays inclusive and we always felt very welcomed. Lovely invites for meals and inclusion in his friends SuperBowl parties. We will always remember skiing together at SnowBird. We became very good friends. We loved his "naughty" sense of humour, always keen to chase a laugh. What shone through every time was Tyler's zest for life and his sincerity and generosity. We are shattered to hear of Tyler's passing and he will remain in our hearts forever. Our thoughts are with his beautiful "hon". Despite the distance we will be thinking of you both on September 24

Patty, Sharon, Kathy and the rest of the Myer's Clan,
I am so so sorry for the loss of Tyler I am just so sad at his passing. I have know you guys since Patty and I were in the 3rd grade so like forever. We lived down the street from each other. Tyler was just like my little brother too and we all liked to mess with him, but in a funny & nice way. Everybody just loved him and his great smile and laugh and he was just full of "chuckles". I just want to tell all of you how much I love you and care and think about you. May God Bless And Hold You In Your Time Of Need. Love you all, Vickster

I've been really struggling with the news of Tyler's passing but want to share how we feel about Tyler (& Deb ).
Our hearts are broken for Deb & ALL of their family & friends who will miss out on sharing the future with Tyler.
One of the blessed days in our life was buying our home in Ruby & then receiving an invitation to their annual summertime BBQ, where I might add the ENTIRE neighborhood was invited! It was here where we met Tyler & Deb. TYLER WAS THE PARTY! He made us feel so welcomed, made sure we were having a good time & introduced us to ALL of his family & friends!
Deb & I became friends and Dave & I were lucky enough to be able to reap the benefits of Tyler's friendship, as well. He was so caring & would do anything he could to help you out, no matter how big or small.
Tyler, we'll miss that smile, that laugh, & most of all how much you loved & adored DEB!

Rest in Peace, we know you'll keep them smiling up there!
Love you both very much,
Cathi & Dave

Tyler was a treasured friend and such a great guy—smart, athletic, funny, caring, generous and loyal. He worked hard and played hard, and didn’t take things or people for granted. He lived his life fully, like he knew this day was coming! I’m pretty sure Nike stole “just do it” from him and I know he was saying “life is good” long before it was showing up on t-shirts. Tyler had so much love in his heart and you could always tell how much he cared for Deb, his family, and his many friends.  I will miss the good times we had, his smile, that laugh, and his energy, positive attitude and great sense of humor. He meant so much to me and my family! We are heart-broken at his passing but also very grateful for the years of fun and friendship we did have. Tyler, we will keep you always in our hearts.

Even when times were really tough you pulled out that smile! May you always have the best powder day and the flattest water when you ski. Rest In Peace my dear friend, where every day now for you is a great day! Although it is so difficult for your family and friends, we will all try to comfort ourselves knowing you are now at peace. Dear Myers Family,

Tyler is my first cousin and I grew up with him. Many here have talked about his laugh and beautiful smile. He was always that way. So genuine and had such a dear soul that even as a young boy, seemed to know if you needed to talk and would listen and help if he could. He had a joyful energy that few people posses and I will miss his beautiful spirit until I'm gone. May you hold him close in your hearts and remember how truly special Ty was. My deepest sympathy to all the Myers and all who knew and loved him. God bless you Ty.

I met Tyler when we were both kids, growing up in Aurora, CO. Aurora was a nice suburb at that time, and we both knew a lot of the same people. I must say, Tyler was a person people would gravitate to. He did have an infectious smile and a great laugh that could put people at ease. I’d like to tell you about all of Tyler’s many accomplishments, but this page isn’t long enough! He was an exceptional individual, and truly a pleasure to know! He’ll be missed by a lot of old friends. Rest In Peace brother! Aloha

Tyler Myers... cutest guy I ever met. My husband Ray and I first met Tyler and Deb in St. Lucia more than 20 years ago. He came into a restaurant as we were eating and that infectious laugh and cute smile just told us we needed to introduce ourselves. That began a week long adventure for the four of us. Though we didn't see each other often because we live on the east coast, we always loved Tyler. We'll see you again, dear friend. We love you.

In 1995, my wife Rose and I were winding up a career in the energy industry and while we were natives of the South and had lived most of our lifetime there, we decided to find a summer home where I could play golf without my glasses getting wet with sweat. We looked and decided on Colorado, Summit County and Silverthorne. The house we bought was, to our great advantage, next door to Tyler and Debbie Myers. While we obviously were substantially older than the Myers, they could not have been better neighbors. Tyler was a great help for whatever we needed - oversight during the winter months when we were mostly away, taking care of tasks that needed to be done, loaning equipment and tools. You name it, Tyler was a great friend and neighbor. Tyler and Debbie were many times on the road during summers - in the RV or boating on Lake Powell, but they were there for about ten years next door and then superb hosts for dinner at their next Siverthorne residence. It was a sad shock to learn of Tyler’s death; someone who could ride a bike from Frisco to Vail Pass easier than I could drive the same path could not have passed before me. It does not seem fair. We will deeply miss this wonderful friend.

Tyler and I's relationship began professionally. We stayed in touch often, years after our business dealings had concluded. He was a good friend to many, me included. I much admired his can do attitude, zest for life, sense of humor, and strong values. I relished the opportunities I had to introduce my wife, children, and father to my friend Tyler, he of the iron work ethic and heart of gold.  I wanted my children to benefit from his example, as I had. He was a "true American success story" and living proof that good things happen to those who consistently work smart and hard, while treating others the right way. Tyler often spoke lovingly of Deb, their children, and grandchildren. He was very proud of and grateful for his family - often sharing stories of your travels together, new grandchildren, etc. Godspeed, my friend. You are missed. I'll see you when I get there.

What can you say about a man that was bigger than life...People gravitated to him like none I have ever seen. He never met a stranger and made everyone that he met, no matter who they were or what occupation they had, feel welcomed. From Janitor to CEO's of large companies, he treated them all the same. He loved his family and friends and was very generous to us all. Tyler loved to travel, ski, hike, bike, and golf (perhaps better stated that he "tried" to golf!). Anything that was related to the outdoors, Tyler loved to be a part of it; whether it was Heli skiing, skydiving, kite boarding, wind surfing, hand gliding, you name it, Tyler probably did it or at least tried it. I could never keep up with his endless activities and adventures. I loved this man with all my heart and always will. He made me feel special, needed, and very loved. He always said, "Good morning, Babe" and "Good night, Hon!" Tyler, you will always be forever in my heart! The Blonde Love of Your Life (Deb)

Tyler Jackson Myers
July 19, 1956 – August 28, 2020
Tyler Jackson Myers, age 64, of Silverthorne, CO passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at his home in Silverthorne.
Tyler was born in Boise, Idaho on July 19, 1956, to Richard Myers and Barbara (Hawkins) Myers, as the second youngest of five siblings.  He grew up in Aurora, CO, graduating from Aurora Central High School, Class of 1974.
After high school, Tyler spent a little less than two years working at a local dry cleaner, where he would start his training in entrepreneurship. By observing the owner’s business sense,Tyler began to better understand what it would take to run a successful business.
In 1976, Tyler and a friend moved to Summit county.Tyler enjoyed his first job there as a lumber jack until another job opportunity presented itself.  With the benefits of ski passes and first tracks, being a caretaker at Solitude Station on Copper Mountain was a great fit for such an outdoor-minded man.  After two and a half years of working for Solitude Station, Tyler set his sights elsewhere.  With his unmatchable drive and determination, Tyler decided to do what it would take to live out the “American Dream” and started a cleaning business out of the camper on the back of his truck; this truck also served as his full-time residence.  His business started to gain traction, winning contracts with a car dealership, radio station, highway patrol, Copper Mountain, and Breckenridge Resort.
Due to his success with his cleaning company, he moved forward with an acquisition of a  carpet cleaning, flood, and fire damage restoration business in 1980 and changed its name to High Country Cleaning.  With a consistent work ethic and impeccable customer service, Tyler grew his business to be the standard upon which other similar operations in the region would pattern their business models.
Tyler met Debbie, also known as the “love of his life”, in 1993.  After a courtship of 3 years, Tyler and Debbie married on August 3rd, 1996.  Debbie had three children from a prior marriage, all of whom Tyler loved greatly and to whom he quickly became a father figure in their teen and adolescent lives.  Tyler enjoyed traveling with his wife and children.  Most of these travels would lead to his most favorite place, Lake Powell, to spend time with family and friends.
Tyler switched business gears in 2005 an started purchasing commercial property.  The first property purchased was the Frisco building in which High Country Cleaning was located.  Shortly after this, he continued with purchasing the rest of what is known as the “back row” of this office complex.  Later on he sold High Country Cleaning which then enabled him to reach a goal of purchasing the “front row.”
His property management style projected the same characteristics of his original cleaning business:  the love he had for people through customer service and considering his tenants as extended family.  Seeking ways to show his care and to aid in their business performance, he performed remodels, placed new signage up front for more clear representation of the tenants’ businesses and was also their biggest word-of-mouth promoter.
Throughout Tyler’s life, he could not ignore his love for the outdoors.  He went on two expeditions: one with the organization Outward Bound, the other with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School).  He was professionally trained in water skiing and could hang with the best of them on the ski slopes.  Hiking, biking, fishing, snow shoeing, scuba diving, and rock climbing were just a handful of the activities you could find him enjoying.
Anyone who knew Tyler Jackson Myer, can attest to his “larger than life” personality.  The Lord broke the human mold when He designed and created Tyler.  He was uniquely gifted in bringing the best out of people by using, at times, unconventional methods to which everyone surely can agree.  Tyler’s full-throttle persona, charismatic charm, winning smile, infectious laugh, and generosity touched so many lives around him.  He will be forever missed.
Preceding him in death were his father,Richard Myers;mother,Barbara McConnell;stepfather, Jim McConnell; sister, Candy Romaine; and nephew, Mark Aldrich.
Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Deborah Myers;son, Jeffrey Huff (wife, Kimberly) of Lenoir City, TN; daughter, Lisa Huff (fiancé,David Thompson) of Arvada, CO; son, Matthew Huff (wife, Kristi) of McCook, NE; sister, Kathy Dolan (husband, Tom)of Maple Grove, MN;sister, Patty Myers of Aurora, CO;sister, Sharon Aldrich (husband, John)of Aurora, CO; nephew, Joe Dolan(wife,Carly)of Maple Grove, MN; niece, Kate Dolan of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Christian Huff, Enzo Africano, Natalie Huff, Sophia Huff, Corbin Huff, and Quinlynn Thompson; as well as numerous family and friends.

Big, little brother.....

September 21, 2020
Our folks split up when I was in 6th grade; that made Tyler about a first grader.  Mom went to work full time so I became the evil older sister!  My job was to keep these four hellions under control.  What it actually meant was they did whatever they wanted and I threatened them with "telling Mom" to get them to do my chores, etc.  Everyone protected Mom; even as littles we knew how difficult her situation was.  Tyler more than anyone.  He heard from many that he was now "the man of the family" after Dad was gone. I know that expectation was difficult for him the older he got; but, even so, he took those sentiments very seriously and became the big, little brother we all counted on.

As you can imagine, we weren't particularly close through our school years....reference evil older sister.  After college, I moved to Minnesota where I met my husband, Tom.  I think initially the lure of the Boundary Waters brought Ty to visit, which soon became a frequent journey. He loved getting to know our Minnesota relatives and friends and they too enjoyed their adventures with him. Ty and Tom became very close and we found ways to get back to Colorado more and more.  Oh, the fun we all had.

Our kids, Joe and Katie were born and we became even closer.  As you have read through these posts you know Ty loved kids.  They let him continue to be a kid and he loved teaching them new things and showing them new adventures.  As every kid who has experienced Ty's mentorship - that didn't come without a degree of pain!!   Who can forget his own rise and shine method for early morning snow skiing and water skiing events!

Soon, Ty and I found ourselves talking almost every day.  With a growing business, his exciting new family with Deb and her kids, my growing family, our jobs - there was always so much to talk about.  Those are such wonderful, exciting years for everyone - lives were fast paced with constant challenges and new adventures.  We shared them all; counseled each other, bragged to each other (I know, shocking) and enjoyed making each other laugh and just a little bit better with each conversation.  He was my best friend.

I will forever miss his laugh, that amazing smile, the way he loved and supported my sisters and me, his friendship with my husband, his love for my kids, the way he brightened every event, the energy he put into pushing everyone to be better, his kindness for people when the chips were down.  So many ways I'll miss him.  But mostly I miss now, and will forever, knowing he is here on God's green earth with all of us.

Our condolences to all who loved him.  Rest in peace and pain free, Ty.

Tyler “My Brother from Another Mother”

September 21, 2020

I met Tyler in the 7th grade, and we have been like brothers ever since. I am very grateful for our friendship and all the times enjoyed together over the years. We got a lot of living and playing done those first 6 years, the bond between us was made and we never lost it by staying caught up with each other over all these years. I’m very thankful for that. He mentioned often how surprised he was we were still alive after those “formidable” years. He matured into a good man, and in my opinion a force of nature! I used to call him the “goat” after he went to Outward Bound. He would hike a mountain like most people walk around the block. Strong in morals and values, while never letting go of the kid in him, and treating all people with respect, kindness and empathy. He always kept in mind where he came from. He gave everyone a good example of “going for it!”

We had many a good time at the annual “Get Together's” over the years with our friends. Lots of water skiing, camping, lots of laughs and community meals.

Then along came the wonderful Lady Deb. She did what I thought could not be done, and the “Confirmed Bachelor” was no more. He was so happy. She and the family were the focus of the rest of his life and he did most everything he could to make their lives full and secure with unconditional love, fun, laughs and support.

Considering where he came from to the accomplishments he made is nothing short of commendable. The only ones that had anything bad to say about Tyler were the ones that tried to take him for granted or advantage of him.

The man said I did a lot for him, but in actuality it was the opposite. He helped me a lot and was always there when I needed his brotherly support and advise.

I had the opportunity to go fishing with Tyler for four days at Lake Granby in mid-July. Lots of good times fishing and reminiscing. It reminded us both of the old days. Really going to treasure that. My brother is in no more pain. That is the only part of this that I am grateful for.

Kathy, Sharon and Patty…keep the good memories and stay strong with those closest to you.

Deb, my heart is with you and I know you have the loving support from the whole family and all your friends. Lean on them when needed, they will catch you with open arms.

Well guess this is goodbye for now…Rest in peace my “Brother from Another Mother”. I'll miss you till we meet again on that big slalom course in the sky!

Fabulous 70's

September 20, 2020
Tyler and I met during high school in 1970. We hit it off immediately and started hanging out together pretty frequently. Our friendship was genuine and probably the most real friendship I had beside the Friend I have now in Jesus Christ.
Tyler and I were practically inseparable during high school and a few years after.  We hung out with Pat Austis, Kim Stanfield, Rick Barron, Dave Hoffman and Kevin Hoffman... many others !!  for many years.  It was a fun time in life and also very different life during the early 70's
When I introduced Tyler to Chuck Bristle my legal guardian in 1970 ...Chuck immediately liked Tyler and took him in and helped him get a job with me at the Coachlight Restaurant. Tyler bused tables and washed dishes while I cooked as a fry cook and a prep cook. We both worked hard and played hard during those years.
After the Coachlight we both went to work at the Tux Stop that was behind Al Cohens "Famous Mens Clothing" store on East Colfax. Ray was our boss and he was a great guy ... he sometimes would let us take his Firebird on deliveries at times.  Tyler met Tom at the dry cleaners business that we used for all our tuxedo cleaning. He soon started working for Tom at the same time we worked for Ray at the Tux Stop. Tom taught Tyler business matters that he learned to carry with him for the rest of his life. Tyler's work ethic and standards for working long and hard to get what he wanted in life came from Tom.  Tom told him that you had to put in hard work if you wanted to be successful.
Tyler and I spent a lot of time snow camping, cross country skiing and also summer camping. Tyler and I rented a house next to the East West runways when Stapleton Airport was still there. It was a dumpy little place, but we made it home and had a great time working, living, laughing and just having fun in life. It was a great friendship and like I said one of most real friendships I ever had.
When Tyler moved to the Mountains in 76...  He had bought a truck with a camper on it and lived near Frisco most the time in it. He worked as a labor, plumber and other trades. Tyler soon was given a job at Cooper Mountain doing most of the janitorial and maintenance work for a few of the buildings and in return he was also given a place to stay and paid also.  It was not long after that Tyler became a operation supervisor for the Solitude Station on top of Cooper. Whenever we came up to visit we would end up taking ski dos up the trail in the winter and in the summer we would jeep up the road to it.  Tyler always made us feel welcome and special whenever we went up to visit him.
Many years went by and as Tyler remained in the Silverthorne / Frisco area he made many friends and also developed into a great business man.
I was always extremely proud of Tyler and we never really stopped staying in touch over the many years.
Tyler told me about Deborah and that this was the lady he was going to marry.  He was so happy and even just a few months ago when we talked and he stated that he was extremely happy that he married Deborah and that he had a growing family that he loved dearly.
Each one of the people that knew Tyler long ago probably remember many things about our times with him. All of them were wonderful and I know that Tyler will be thought of in those memories with love and happiness.
Thank you forallowing everyone to tell there stories on this website since most of us now live many miles away and cannot make it to the celebration.

To Deborah and the rest of Tyler's family, Susan and I just want you to know that we pray for your comfort during this time.
God Bless all of you and may Gods grace be with you !!
