Mummy, sweet memories of you linger on. I miss you dearly: your smile, laughter, caring, counsel, friendship. I will never have a mentor, friend and confidant like you. Oftentimes, I recall our conversations and always conclude: “mother was right”.

I wished we could go back in time, but no, the past is behind us and we still have a future to deal with by God’s unfailing grace. Thoughts of you will carry me through failures, disappointments and successes. You taught me so much and those teachings are still guiding me. It is not always easy, but when I stop and recall our conversations, it helps immensely. I have stumbled many times, failing to adhere to counsel, but I guess it is human. I pray that God will grant me wisdom to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Nine years have gone by, but it always seems that it was just yesterday we sadly had to say goodbye to you.
