Goodbye Auntie Val,
(I know you preferred ‘Valerie’ but throughout my childhood you were my Auntie Val!)
The first time I introduced my then-girlfriend Jane to the extended Bell family was at your Silver Wedding Anniversary party. You had no way of knowing how terribly nervous she was but greeted her warmly, with a big smile, a kiss on both cheeks and a compliment on her dress - chosen specially for the occasion.
That was the snapshot that came to mind when I sat down to contribute to this collage. You were always welcoming, had a fine eye for fashion that was reflected in your own elegant style and we always felt at ease in your company. We will miss you but remember you fondly.
