Her Life
February 27, 2021
Valerie’s parents hail from Jamaica. They both came to the UK in the 1950s. Valerie was born and raised in West London. Growing up in a large family (3 brothers and 4 sisters) in West London during 60s and 70s created some fond memories for her and lifelong friendships. Little did she know she would also meet the love of her life. Valerie would go on to marry Tony, have children (Toni-Mae and Simon) building a life together in East London.

Valerie was blessed with the ability to teach herself to knit and with determination improved her skills to be quite accomplished. There are a lucky few that have been blessed to have one or a couple of her creations.

Valerie loved adventure and travelled to many places taking a keen interest in local culture and art.

Valerie enjoyed playing netball and played in different teams and tournaments. Many good friendships were made, and she would go on to share the love of the game playing alongside her daughter.

Valerie’s working career is long, starting with her Saturday job at Bishops and ending up working in various posts in British Telecom since the late 1970s.

Valerie loved to laugh, her three grandchildren (Theo, Daniel and Joseph) gave many moments of joy and laughter.

Valerie’s untimely death on 5th January 2021 came as a shock to her loves one’s. Her passing in her sleep will be forever mourned. However, her amazing caring spirit shall live on in our hearts.

Rest well Valerie. Gone to soon
