This year without you has been a sad one for me. What fun we had when you were last year and we went to Tennessee Performing Arts. Little did I know that would be my last time with you and you were such a picture of health! I love your final resting place and still pray to see you again one day! I love you!

Sending love to Val's family....... Loved your Mom and felt like we knew all of you just by the stories she told and also about all her grandchildren. So sorry to hear about her passing. We had many fun times as our YaYa breakfast group got together for Christmas, Red Hats and our very own therapy groups. She will be so missed and loved forever ❤️

Your smile and your laugh are easy to remember. I got my fair share of both over the years wisecracking with you. Rest in peace, Val. You will be missed.

Sending my deepest sympathies to Valerie's family - especially to Brendan who is a great guy. Having lost my own mother this year, I know first hand the deep sense of loss and grief you are going through. You remain in my prayers.

Last Visit

February 24, 2016

Never did I dream when Val came to Nashville in September that it would be our last time together.  We had such fun as we always did!  We went to see "Dirty Dancing" at Tennessee Performing Arts Center in downtown Nashville and shared a wonderful Italian meal at Demos prior to the play.  She also attended my Silver Sneakers excercise class with me at the Y.  We got a visitors card for her next visit.  Lots of time was spent with our feet up just visiting.  We were really good at that!

One of my favorite memories of Val was M & M's.  We both loved chocolate and Val always kept a BIG bag of M & M's for just such an occasion that we NEEDED chocolate. This was before Kate was born!  I can still picture her 3 boys and my 2 with hands extended waiting for their share, all in equal proportions as they were counted out. Sometimes colors mattered as well!

We laughed together and shared tears together.  I love you Val!
