Missing Val

February 26, 2021
Val was such an incredible human. She was so kind and her heart was so big. She was always happy and in a positive mood. She always helped others without hesitation. She was a wonderful friend. I miss her so much and will always remember her as a ray of sunshine

Ms Val

I had the pleasure of working with Ms Val for many years at Audubon.  We never worked directly together, as we did not share the same students, but this didn't matter.  Ms Val was my friend.  We would talk, laugh, and chat almost daily in the workroom.  We shared our love of the same music, and our back in the day stories that always made us laugh.  She was always the first to volunteer for any help that our ASB needed.  We needed help with the talent show, Ms Val was there.  8th grade promotion, we could count on Val. When I had 7th or 8th graders who needed work of lower grades, Ms Val would personally deliver the materials to my classroom with the quickness.  She always, always put the students needs first.  When we had our food drive, Ms Val was there.  When we had band fundraisers, Ms Val was there.  When I would send out emails asking for help, and NO ONE would respond, guess who would.  Ms Val.  Why?  Because she was a real one and and she was a teacher who understood it was about the kids.  I will miss her selflessness.  I will miss our shared looks of shared understanding when someone on staff was going left.  I will miss our facebook messenger chats from slurpies, to politics, to aqua net, to equitable education.  My deepest condolences to her family.  Val, I know you are watching over your family.  Until we meet again.

First and foremost she was a very close cousin...our moms are sisters and our dads are brothers and thats very rare.....and i feel that made us even closer.....Although we share many many memories together...the ones that stand out the most are our camping trips every summer...we always had fun....swimming hiking laying out and having a few laughs....we would tell everyone we were sisters..and get a laugh outta that because they believed us ....we would use fake names and watch Gidget and music videos while painting our nails...sooo many memories that i can mention ....EVERYTIME i think of her ,I smile... i feel honored and very blessed to have shared so much with her...she will forever live in my heart ...miss you cousin...til we meet again PEANUT..... LOVE YOU ...SHAWNA BUG

Awale, I’m going to miss you everyday that passes by. My whole life is filled with memories of you & the kids. Thank you for being the best aunt anyone could have asked for. You taught me so many things, but most importantly to KICK ASS & never give up. I will always cherish the good times we shared w the family, our fav movies, songs, arts and crafts, the suburban, all the fun things I will hold in my heart. There’s so many to write. You left us to soon, but I find a little comfort knowing you are not suffering. You did your part for everyone here, now it’s our turn to do for you ❤️ Watch over our family ma. Let us know you are here still. You taught my cousins everything but to live without you.  I love you ma, I will always look over my cousins. God rest your beautiful soul. Loving you always, lingie
