Van Henry Hess, age 62, fondly known as Mose to family and friends, died at his home in Otway, Ohio, on September 6, 2023.

He is survived by his daughters, Angela  (& Jerry Lightfoot) of Wilmington OH, and Kassie (& Dustin Smith) of Richlands NC, his son, Jacob Hess of Spotsylvania VA and grandsons Hayden Montero of Wilmington OH, Rizin and Riddikk Hess of Locust Grove, VA. 

He is survived by his mother Alberta Stroud of Greenfield OH.

He is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Hess of Rarden OH, and his sister Leslie Hess of Rarden OH

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
