Veda's Love for her Family

December 6, 2011

Veda was devoted to her Family, especially her Mother.  For many years she watched out for her Mom and took care of her.  When her Mom became incapcitated and had to have nursing care, Veda fought to get her in the best care facility in the area.  She called the nursing facility everyday until they finally had the room and agreed to take her Mom.  Every Sunday without fail, Veda would go the home and attend Mass with her Mom.   Other times she would go and take her Mom shopping or just bring her home for a home cooked meal so she could spend time with her great grandchildren.

Veda's Mom passed away on Dec. 6, 2010 at around 2:00 AM.  Veda was right there by her side when Catherine took her final breath.  I know her Mom was there for Veda when she died.  In the final moments of Veda's life, she talked to her Mom.

I write this with tears because I can still see my dear wife's face when that final breath came and went.  She was smiling with eyes wide open.  I know in my heart that Catherine was there with open arms to greet her and welcome her to the other side.

Veda with some of her Little Dragons

November 28, 2011

Some of my fondest memories in the Do jang was watching Veda teaching her Little Dragons.  She would tell them stories to help them understand the Life Skills she would teach them.  I would stand at the counter or sit at the desk and watch her class thinking that she must love children very much to have the patience to teach them the martial arts.  Sometimes when I am in the Do Jang I look around expecting to find her with a student explaining some difficult technique to them but in a way that was easy to understand.  Other  times I strongly feel her presence with us.

A Short Biography

November 27, 2011

Veda was born the daughter of Harry and Catherine (Dinisi) Noel.  She was the third of 5 children, having two sisters, Cathy and Janet and two brothers, Harry and Tim.

In September 1965 at the age of 15, she met a young boy named Steve who immediately fell in Love with her.  For the next several months he pursued her with vigor.  Though she lived 8 miles away this young man would walk those 8 miles several time a week just to see her and be with her.  Though she was only 16 and he 18 they married on September 18, 1966 and spent the next 45 years in love.  One might say they lived for each other for when you saw one the other was right there along side.  They had two children, Michele and Adam who gave them 3 Grandchildren, Jacob, Emilee and Erinn whom Veda adored. She often said she wanted to live long enough to see her oldest Granddaughter, Emilee get married.  Unfortunately that was not to be.  In July of 2011 Veda was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and went to be with the Angels 10 weeks later.

Steve got involved with and fell in love with the Martial Arts.  He trained so much at the Do Jang that Veda used to say he had a mistress and her name was Tae Kwon Do.  Steve often tried to talk her into joining him but she would say that was not for her.  Finally, she agreed to go with him and see what this was all about.  Once she had a few lessons she too fell in love with the Art and trained right by Steve's side for 16 years.

In 2002 she convinced Steve to open their own school and pass along their knowledge, though they both knew the funds and resources were limited.  However, with her help and support they did manage to create a school and pass along their knowledge of the Martial Arts.  Veda taught Children's Classes and was Chief Instructor of the Little Dragons (5-7 yr. olds) whom she loved very much and they in turn loved her.  She had touched so many lives and is and will be greatly missed by her students.  Veda was a very caring and loving person and she can rest in peace knowing that the wisdom and life skills she instilled in her students will help them as they go through life.

She loved her family and thought that family always came first.  She was dedicated to her Mother and took care of her for many years until her Mother's passing in 2010.

She will mostly be missed by her Husband and Soulmate, Steve, who loved her with all his heart and soul.

RIP Veda for you were loved by many and will be missed by many for years to come.
