Bok 2

June 11, 2010

There was a time when she asked me to accompany her to visit her relatives in the Fairview area.  I asked her, "alam mo ba pupuntahan natin?...and she said yes, siempre naman no, heto address, sa dulo raw....at me instruction nga naman....That was the first time we travelled to Fairview, so we took the "Love Bus (mga aircon buses nung time ni Imelda Marcos),"  hay naku, nakarating kami sa garahe ng Love Bus, kami na lang passengers di pa rin kami makababa kasi di nya alam ang papunta dun....Sabi ng conductor, sakay na lang kayo uli Mam at ibaba ko kayo sa kanto....So, ganun ang ginawa namin, then finally sa katatanong nakita na namin bahay.....Another story was when again she asked me to accompany her, this time sa Loyola Chapel din sa Guadalupe....sabi nya, "Samahan mo ako Bok sa patay, kasi iuuwi na siya bukas sa province."  So, off we went to Guadalupe and pagdating dun, akyat kami 2nd floor, then silip kami sa room, then sabi nya, heto siguro....pumasok siya but I hesitated, then bigla siyang napalabas sabi nya, naku Bok, ibang patay to...(hahahaha!), then pasok na naman siya sa isa...labas na naman, iba pa rin ....Finally, I said, itanong kaya natin dun sa Mama sa ibaba, tinanong nga namin, sabi ng Mama, "Hay naku Mam, inilabas na po kahapon, inuwi yata sa probinsiya".....hay naku...hahaha! so lumayo na kaming 2 dun....at tumawa kami ng tumawa 2, pinagtawanan namin mga sarili namin........She's really funny....funny in the sense na di naman nya alam na funny siya.....Pero meron din malungkot na kwento,.....During the time na matatapos na bahay nya sa QC, she went looking for curtains, fixtures and in short, para dun sa interior decoration ng bahay nya...meron mga lumapit sa kanya na gustong tulungan siya...and there was one na pinagtiwalaan nya....nagbigay na ng 50% downpayment for the curtains yata yun,.......hayun, tinakbuhan siya......she can be very trusting even sa mga bagong kakilala.......Isa pang kwento, meron siya cousin who went abroad and she's very close to him, para siya kapatid nya...si Elic (ewan kung correct ang spelling)...Meron sila small business, yung nagdedeliver ng flowers and food pag me mga occassions....One time, I was tasked to provide her a jeepney para maghatid ng lechon, hay naku, hinila ko pa uncle ko para lang magka-jeep....Eh, kaso di namin alam ang address kasi Dampalit daw, eh ang dami palang Dampalit, meron sa Malabon at meron sa Bulacan at meron pa ibang Dampalit....e bisperas yun ng Pasko, so tinawagan ko...sabi ko paikot-ikot na yung nagdedeliver, wala pa ring makitang address sa Dampalit.....hayun, ibinigay nya sa driver ang lechon....pinauwi...hehehe.....

There were many occassions na we both attended katulad ng contest ng mga chorale sa UST wherein si Mico was a member ng St. Mary's chorale...graduation ni Mico and meron ding farewell presentation dun sa conductor ni Mico sa St. Mary's......Maski di na kami magkasama sa Made, we continued with our friendship...nagkikita pag me pagkakataon....I remember, I also met her parents nung before the wedding nya, sa Malvar din kasama yung elder sister nya, who she fondly called "Manang Clar."

Whenever, there were occassions sa office, punta yan sa mall, sabihin nya...halika na Bok, samahan mo ako....wala akong pang Christmas party or pang-outing....Lagi yan, maski outing lang, pinaghahandaan nya to the max...bagong shorts and sexy shirts.....Maipalalabas nya sa saleslady lahat bago pa siya makapili ng talagang gusto nya.....She's so fond of sexy, trendy but very decent clothes.....Flawless kasi skin nya and nagtataglay siya ng magandang legs....and she knows and feels...kung sino ang nag-aadmire sa kanya.

Bok (Part 1)

Venus and I met in 1980 at Made, Inc. where I was hired then as accounting staff and she was the Senior Bookkeeper.  She was an original (pioneer) employee of Made, Inc, even when the company held office in Iligan City. She was the first person in the Finance team to welcome me and put me at ease.  If you don't know her, you will be intimidated by her presence and her voice....But we became good friends, she lived in Malvar, Taft at the back of PWU and I lived in Manila, so we went home at the same time and rode the same bus....From time to time, I went to her boarding house especially during her bithdays and when there were other occassions, and there I met her cousins, Juliet, Merle, and Elic as well as her future husband, Roger.  She's super "kulit" when she wants something from you, until you will just relent to her "kakulitan."  Whenever we go to a shopping mall, I tried to stay at least a meter away from her because she will always instruct and request the saleslady to produce the item she wants one by one until she gets what she really like, but most of the times, di naman niya binibili...hehhehe.....

When she got married, I was with her scouring Divisoria for less expensive but very good quality wedding dress............hay...nakakapagod that time.....but she got what she wanted including the dresses for her whole entourage.... The same with the restaurants.......we called, visited and negotiated for the venue......And then the church, ....oh my....di pala siya baptized as Catholic....so she scheduled her baptism and appointed (not asked) me to be her "ninang."  That is why, she always called me ninang on the phone....Pero, I am ninang also to Mico, her one and only son.....And, umulan ng malakas during her wedding day....sa Malate church yun....

We had a lot of fun during that time, we went to Shakeys whenever a certain band played there and we only ordered coke and a pizza....Maski saan sila tumutugtug, we followed pero pag after sueldo lang....That's how "buwang" we were in those days....

I will write other stories we shared some other time ......I agree with Eileen of the generosity of her aunt Venus....so generous that sometimes, she could no longer recognize kung niloloko siya or not.....Lagi ko siya pinagsasabihan....pero siya yun eh....inherent na sa kanya yung trait na yun.....And she loved her family greatly, her nieces, her nephews, they are her joy, she was so proud of what they have become.....

"Auntie Engging" the closiest and best auntie we ever had. We used to visit and stay with her in Quezon City. Everybody are welcome to their house!

We spent time together, went shopping, eating, watching movies, buying groceries in weekends and went church on Sundays. She loved family gatherings and big parties. She can cooked. " Tlagang masarap ang luto nya dami nyang recipes na tlgang nakakamissed".

We knew how inspired she was to the people who keep in touch with her. We took her to shopping...buying things she like such bags, clothings, jewelries and cosmetics. That's how we loved and cared our auntie!

Auntie Engging's generosity and thoughtfulness very much appreciated. You could expect gifts from her during Christmas.

She had morning aerobic session and went salon on weekends. Monthly hair trimming and facial cleansing as needed. She was very  fashionable... very much in vain with newly trends in fashions, clothings and accessories. She loves veggies and teas. Those are some of her secrets, making herself younger looking, sexy and gorgeous as ever!

That's all i could share for now.

We love you and missed you so much Auntie.
