"May God give comfort to those she left behind. Vera was a sweet person who had a heart of gold and a kind and loving spirit. She was loved by all her children and friends. Heaven has surely gained an angel and I bet she is teaching the children who have gone before us in heaven. You will be missed Ms. Hockaday at Rowland-Norment Elementary. Prayers be with the family."

"Vera's sweet spirit and kind smile will forever be missed. I always loved talking with her and spending time with her and talking about all the good country cooking we were missing when we were away at school. She loved her friends and family so well.....and the children that she taught were blessed to have her for a teacher. I'm sure the Lord greeted her with "Well done thy good and faithful servant." Love you dear friend........."
"Vera, I just learned of your Homegoing today! During our time at Peace College, I was blessed to have so many wonderful friends/sisters. You were grounded in your faith and I am blessed to have been able to share two years of my life with you and my Peace sisters. Truly Heaven has gained an angel! Until we meet again dear friend...God Bless you and prayers lifted for your family in the days ahead."
"May the family find peace and comfort in knowing Vera is in the arms of her heavenly Father. Her suffering is over. I will keep your family in my prayers"
