Verdun Johnson Jr., 60 years old, born on June 5, 1960, and passed away on February 3, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father Verdun Ray Johnson Sr. Ray is survived by his mother Mary Ann Johnson; his three brothers, Randall, Robert, and Ronnie Johnson of Dayton Ohio; his 2 children Verdun Ray Johnson III of Dayton and Misty Johnson of Huber Heights, Ohio; his 3 grandchildren, Annabelle Johnson of Sidney, Ohio, Alyssa and Daniel Villalpando of Dayton, Ohio and many family and friends.
Ray was loved by his family and friends to the fullest he was a amazing son, brother, father and papaw.
Ray didn’t know a stranger and would do anything for anybody no questions asked he was a very kind and generous loving man. He worked hard his whole life from being a police officer to a heavy equipment operator to truck driver and handyman.
He loved spending time with his family and friends more than anything. Ray sure did love to ride his motorcycle and he just loved his old black truck.
Ray had been sick for sometime but he fought to live every day even though he was growing tired. He had told us all that he wasn’t ready to go but even though his heart wasn’t ready his weak body could not stay and it was time for him to go home and to be with God and his love ones before him. Ray will always be missed beyond words but we know there’s no more sickness no more pain you are home and you are free to fly high In the sky Ray until we all see you again we will forever love and miss you!
A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 3-4 PM at W. E. Lusain Funeral Home, 2455 Stanley Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45404
