Veronica loved Wacka Flocka.. Strange name!!!

VERONICA CHANTE’ GODWIN, 19, of Memphis, Tn, a student at Lemoyne Owen College, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 10, 2011, in Memphis. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Adrienne Godwin. She leaves her parents, James E Godwin, Jr and Vicky Patterson of Memphis, Tn Grandparents Carlton L and Beverley Perkins Addison of  Jacksonville, Fl and James E Godwin Sr (Bertha), Robert Johnson, Great-Grandmother Mary Chandler Perkins, and stepmother, Raylon Acey Godwin all of Memphis, Tn and a host of relatives and friends. She was a member of the Chandler Family. She was a 2010 graduate of Frayser High School where she was a majorette and very popular student.  She accomplished a major goal that she had set for herself, going to college. She worked hard and completed her Freshman year at Lemoyne-Owen College.  She had plans of  becoming a Forensic Scientist (CSI). She was on the majorette dance team and on the women’s softball team. Her bubbly personality, wide smile and loving nature made her a favorite of the faculty. She was formerly employed by KFC where she worked during the summer. She was a communicant of Pentecostal Temple where she was a member of the Purity Class and Young Peoples Choir. She was dedicated to God at Pentecostal Temple by her parents and grandparents as a baby. She a member of Old Salem Baptist Church. She loved to dance, stay on the computer and talk on the phone. She was always with a cell phone to her ear. She was such a special and loving person and she never met a stranger. Veronica was a “Daddy’s Girl” that everyone called her Twin. We loved her, but God loved her more.

Visitation will be from 5pm – 7pm  Friday, November 18, 2011 at J O Patterson Mortuary, 2944 Walnut Grove Rd. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Pentecostal Temple Institutional Church of God in Christ with burial in New Park Cemetery.
