One Year Anniversary.

June 11, 2013

Last year on this date, my Mom left this world to be in an Angel among Angels. Funny how time flies yet the emotions are raw as it gets. Me and my siblings are STILL truly grateful to all those who were there for us during our time of need. Gone far too soon, yes. But Its been the little things that we still remember.... the funny moments, her smiles, her laughter, her cooking, her no nonsense attitude....and although it may still seem hard even now, it will be the memories of these little things that will help to push away the pain & bring the smiles back again. I hope you are happy & truly at peace in the after world. I miss my mom, my friend, my fellow comedian & my confidant terribly. I see a lot of you in me almost everyday! Rest in peace Mama...Mucho Love!

How we met and stayed as good friends.

June 19, 2012

It was in early May 1967 when as a mono, i joined one of the High Schools in Eldoret. Who was i to meet as one of my classmates?, Veronica Chepkener ( who was later to be Mrs Choge ); what a nice, friendly, talkaive, welcoming and charming age mate i have met as a new found friend. What next, although i was late joining Form One, monolization was still active in school; Veronica tipped me on how to behave as a mono, and what to say when approached by a Form Two. She rehearsed me on what to say in the Dining Hall infront of the whole school during my introduction  to all shoolmates in the evening after dinner, ( hard time is'nt it? ), but Vero took everything easy; thanks to the Almighty. Not only me did she loved, helped, protected and reasured( with that open, caring heart ), but she also did even to those who joined us pretty much later behind me.
In class, Veronica as a classmate, saved us a lot of punishments from the teachers when we didn't get what the teacher was teaching. We feared putting up our hands to answer a question we weren't familiar with; so everybody was to look at Veronica ( to save us answer the question ) as she was very fast in answering any question, whether right or wrong, till all teachers came to like her as a trying, progressing, good student who later came to pass her High School Exam and proceeded to College,; finished her college, and started working in different parts of our country, and later worked in Nakuru where we met again as old friends and colleages. Veronica loved everybody, and assisted them all equally, she never pointed a finger nor said any harsh words to any one, she never had such words or intentions in her vocabulary;NEVER and again NEVER.
When i came to the US, i was once again to meet my friend Vero who welcomed me, paid my ticket from North Carolina to Boston, and later, invited me from Boston to her new home away from home in Arizona, showed me all around Phoenix Aizona, to the beatiful farms, towns and even to the Zoo.Surely Veronica; I WILL MISS YOU MY DEAR SISTER, GOD REST YOUR SOUL IN PEACE, in that place of NO sorrow,no pain, no stress, no sweating nor hunger or loneliness, TILL WE MEET AGAIN IN HEAVEN once again as friends and sisters praising God the Almighty together. GOD KEEP VERONICA IN YOUR LOVING WARM HANDS, TILL WE MEET AGAIN IN THAT BEAUTIFUL KINGDOM YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ALL YOUR CHOSEN ONES. AMEN!!.
