My Mother My Angel

September 6, 2013
Once upon a time an angel held my hand, She wiped away my tears and helped me understand. Our time on earth is brief, there's lessons to be learned, Each precious day God gives us another page is turned. Every chapter full of memories, times of joy and tears, Triumphs and defeats, through every passing year. She loved us unconditional, always by our side, When no one else would listen, in her we could confide. With gentle words of wisdom she led us on our way, Down the paths of righteousness if ever we did stray. She saw the light in everyone and gave with no regrets, Always from her heart let's us not forget. Angels come in many forms, for me it is my mother, With love I cannot say in words there'll never be another. Every day I turn the page in my heart will ever remain, Everything she taught me as I stroll down memory lane. Thank you God for giving me the most priceless of all treasures, Help my Lord to keep alive her memory here forever. I pray that I can some day be everything she hoped I would, That's she smiling down from heaven knowing she did good. As we gather here today there's no ending to her story, Another chapter has begun full of grace and glory. Gods called her to his heavenly home, part of his great plan, Although it may be hard, we all must understand. Faith is what is hoped for, things we cannot see, Heaven is promised to all of us if only we believe. I Love and Miss You Momma

Mom was a Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She loved being around her family on special occasions, especially Christmas. Christmas was her time of the year that she was the closest to her family. She would slave over the stove for days so everything would be perfect for Christmas Eve. She and Dad enjoyed watching the kids sopen their presents by the Christmas tree that her and Dad would decorate together. I think they enjoyed themselves more than the grand kids did. Just seeing the expressions on Mom's face as the grand kids opened each and every gift was the greatest gift of all. I can remember when I was younger and it was winter time and we got some snow Mom would make hot chocolate and homemade ice cream. Boy those were the days. The camping trips to caney lake, the trips to Florida were great. The one trip I took with Mom to So. Carolina to meet her sister Dorthy. Now that was something, while driving through Mississippi we had to get gas so we stopped in a town called Puckett and as we were leaving I took a wrong turn and was headed back west. She caught it and she let me know. As we turned around and went back threw Puckett she commented " it's alright son just Puckett ", we must have laughed for the next 50 miles. We left So. Carolina and went to Georgia to my friends Dan and Elaine house. Mom hadn't seen Dan in years and I think she had a great time. It was an awesome sight we she found her sisters down in Florida. It was like a kid at a candy store excited and thrilled. I remember she couldn't wait for us to meet Rita. It thrilled her to no end. I know Mom truly Loved her Family till the very end.
