Mrs. Vicki Marlane Harp Gentry, age 67, passed away at her home in Pleasant Grove, Alabama on Sunday, July 9, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Vicki was born August 20, 1955, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Vicki was preceded in death by her mother, Odell M. Harp and father, Lewis D. Harp. She is survived by her husband, Horace Gentry Jr., Sons: Michael (Jennifer) Bailey, Ryan (Shelby) Holley, Kevin (Kelley) Gentry, and Chris (Belinda) Gentry; siblings: Patricia (Lonnie F.) Moon, Lewis (Sue) Harp, and Mark (Rachel) Harp; grandchildren; Sarah Bailey, Kole Gentry, Kambelle Gentry, Michael Archer Bailey, Kimberly Gentry, Konnor Gentry, Kade Gentry, Samantha Suggs Gentry, Wyatt Holley, and Waylon Holley; as well as four nephews, three nieces, and a multitude of loving friends.

Vicki was a long-time employee of UAB, serving as an office manager. She also served a key role in the UAB Benevolent Program which assisted countless families with vital financial assistance during difficult times in their lives. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove where she cherished the members of her Sunday School class and other congregants.

A visitation for Vicki will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am with a memorial service immediately after at Bethel Baptist Church, 635 9th Way, Pleasant Grove, Alabama.
