This lifetime memorial website in honour of Mrs Vicky Addai-Diawuo (nee Baah) has been created at https://www.forevermissed.com/vicky-addai-diawuo/#about.
Vicky was called home to be with her Lord and Maker on Wednesday September 26, 2018 at St. Thomas’s Hospital in London, UK.
Indeed Vicky was a blessed child of God, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, cousin and niece; a loyal family woman; a true lovely friend, work colleague, prayer warrior and a joyful companion to know.
The Justgiving weblink set up for kind donations in support of Vicky’s chosen charities GHAFES, Scripture Union (Ghana), Renew West Africa (Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast and Hornchurch Baptist Church (UK) raised well over the £3000 target, thanks to the kindness and generosity of friends, family, colleagues and loved ones.
https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/vicky-addai-diawuo?utm_term=DV52Db4kGVicky was buried on Friday October 19 2018 at the UPMINSTER CEMETERY, Ockendon Rd, Upminster RM14 2UY. The Committal service which started at 1245 pm was also marked with a lovely time and spontaneous celebratory atmosphere at the graveside “Singspiration”
DRESS CODE: Black & White (where possible)
Details of The Service of Celebration were as follows:
Date: Friday 19 October 2018
Time: 10am prompt.
Venue: ROMFORD BAPTIST CHURCH, MAIN ROAD, LONDON, RM1 3BL, UK
The Service of Thanksgiving followed, at 1:30pm in the ROMFORD BAPTIST CHURCH HALL, with music, tributes and refreshments UNTIL 4PM. Clearing up and shutting RBC was completed by 5pm.
The traditional Ghanaian “one week celebration” took place at Vicky's family home in Hornchurch on Saturday 6th October 2018 from 4pm- 10pm in a lovely atmosphere, listening to some of Vicky’s favourite Christian inspirational songs in the pleasant company of the many well wishers.
Many thanks to all friends, loved ones, church family, neighbours, work colleagues, and acquaintances who were able to come in their numbers to mourn with Vicky’s entire family.
“Indeed, The Lord turns our sorrow into joy as we gratefully receive His strength for each day”

I can't believe that it's now five years since you left us and went to join the party in Heaven. I miss you lots and especially the times I shared at house group with you, Akwasi and other dear friends from HBC.
I thank you once again for all the prayers that you prayed for myself and my family.
We are all doing well and I feel very blessed by God's incredible love.
Carry on resting in the perfect peace that transcends all understanding. I remember you saying 'don't be anxious about anything, but pray about everything!'
God bless Vicky

5 years gone already and seems like only yesterday. We continue to remember that smile and genuine interest in knowing how one was faring.
The effort to get in touch with family as much as you could, whenever you had opportunity in Ghana.
We're thankful to God, for the opportunity of connecting with you, and pray that your memory will continue to be a blessing to us all.
Amen.

It's been five long years.
Still no stopping the silent tears;
still no stopping the sudden smiles.
Memories of fun times and many miles
travelled, from the Aburi mountains
to the diamond-rich, rain-fed fountains
of your beloved Sierra Leone...
And now, dust to ashes you lie, alone,
as it was in the beginning, like a spinster
six feet under, in Upminster...
But now you are risen from the grave,
To death no longer a slave,
Safe in the arms of Yeshua
Everlasting life forever sure
Still no stopping the silent tears;
still no stopping the sudden smiles.

Can finally report some progress: Akwasi finally stepped foot in the 'Inn' this summer! Only for a few minutes, but a giant step, nonetheless. Still praying and hoping

I REMEMBER IT ALL SOOOO WELL
“Then Job replied to the Lord: ‘
I KNOW that YOU can do all things; no PURPOSE of YOURS can be THWARTED.
YOU asked,
“Who is this that OBSCURES my PLANS without KNOWLEDGE?”
SURELY, I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.
‘You said, “LISTEN now, and I will SPEAK ;
I will QUESTION you, and you shall answer ME.”
My EARS had HEARD of you but NOW my EYES have SEEN you.
THEREFORE
I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.’”
Job 42:1-6

It's 4 years since your sudden departure, but the shock & the pain of loss are no less raw. Akwasi has not set foot at the 'Inn' since you left us.
But we take comfort from the assurance of Scripture that "away from the body means at home with the Lord", where there is no more pain or suffering. Rest in peace till we meet again in the streets of gold, and prostrate together at the feet of the Lamb that was slain, in wonder, love & praise.

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling

Dear Vicky, you've been on my mind, especially this past week. Still see your different facial expressions: seriousness, reflective, mischief, glee, and more that made you you.
It's been a blessing knowing you, praying and worshipping together, discussing spiritual matters, chatting and having fun as well as discussing serious issues. Your memory is a blessing.
I wish it were possible for you to tell me how it is on the other side. Knowing you, it would be animated, colourful and exciting.
Rest well till we meet again.

Tears Are A Language God Understands
October 12, 2019
Often you've wondered why tears come into your eyes
and burdens seem to be much more than you can stand.
But God is standing near, He sees your falling tears.
Tears are a language God understands.
When grief has left you low, it causes tears to fl ow.
When things have not turned out the way that you had planned.
But God won't forget you, His promises are true.
Tears are a language God understands.
God sees the tears of a broken-hearted soul.
He sees your tears and hears them when they fall.
God weeps along with man and takes him by the hand

I write this with great sadness over the unimaginable loss of my dear friend. To me, Vicky was brave, strong and inspirational. A woman who loved God and gave everything for her family.
As I sit here reflecting....reflecting on my long friendship with Vicky which spans over 47yrs: Secondary School, Holiday fun times, her Wedding day, the Births of children and grandchildren, Prayer times, Home Visits, Church visits, Lunches, More Prayer times, Phone calls, Shared Thoughts about our children and grandchildren, I could go on and on... I just thank God for putting Vicky in my life.
She was special; kind, witty, funny and extremely courageous. She encouraged me with her life. The many times throughout her illness I spoke to her, she never complained, instead she was taking each day in her stride and hoping that a treatment would be found so that she could get on with her life. Oh, she fought a brave and strong battle.
Her beautiful spirit will live on through her children and grand children.
Whilst we are mourning the loss of our beloved friend, mother and wife, the crowd of witnesses are rejoicing to meet her behind the veil. Whilst we watched her sail disappear from sight, they are welcoming her home.
(NB:Dated October 10 2018, one day before Vicky’s 60th birthday)
