Victor's Life

January 3, 2014

Victor Nkemakonam Nwadimma Okeke, was born in Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria on November 6, 1960 to Godwin Chuka Okeke and Philomena Ifeyinwa Okeke of Urueze village, Oba, Anambra State, Nigeria.

Victor undertook his primary school education at the Christ Church School, Uwani, Enugu. He had his secondary education at the Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS,) Onitsha, and the College of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu. Victor later enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, Aba to study for advanced levels and attended the College of Technology, Owerri where he received a degree in Business Administration. At the request of his father, he decided to go the extra mile and enrolled in the University of Nigeria, Enugu where he studied law.

“Sir Vic”, as he was fondly called by friends, colleagues, and in-laws, later attended Nigerian Law School in Lagos, Nigeria and called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990. Thereafter, Sir Vic worked as the Legal Adviser for Bishops Gate International, a British owned company at the time. In 1992, while working for this company, he met his wife Victoria Uzo Okoli and got married the same year. He later moved on to the banking sector and worked with Commerce Bank in the Legal Dept. A few years later, the family left Nigeria for United States, where Victor passed his bar exam and relocated to New York where he later owned and operated two law offices.

Throughout his journey of life, Sir Vic met, helped and related with so many people from different walks of life so much that the impact he had on all is very much felt to this day. Victor was a humble, God-fearing man of peace and a loving and devoted family man, whose his smile lit up any room he walked into. To say that he will be greatly missed is an understatement.

Sir Vic is survived by his wife - Victoria, daughter - Adaeze, sons - Chetanna and Gozienna, aged parents, brothers, sisters and numerous relatives.

Adios Sir Vic. Till we meet again at Jesus’ feet.
