Who sat and watched my infant head
When sleeping on my cradle bed,
And tears of sweet affection shed?
My Mother.
When pain and sickness made me cry,
Who gazed upon my heavy eye,
And wept for fear that I should die?
My Mother.
Who taught my infant lips to pray
And love God’s holy book and day,
And walk in wisdom’s pleasant way?
My Mother.
And can I ever cease to be
Affectionate and kind to thee,
Who wast so very kind to me,
My Mother?
Ah, no! the thought I cannot bear,
And if God please my life to spare
I hope I shall reward they care,
My Mother.
When thou art feeble, old and grey,
My healthy arm shall be thy stay,
And I will soothe thy pains away,
My Mother.
You taught me alot Mum
You taught me how to always stand for myself, you taught me to be courageous, you taught me to be a cheerful giver, you taught me to love everybody around me, you taught me to always make peace everywhere I find myself......You taught me everything I know today, and am proud of the woman I've become.
you gave me a great father and a wonderful siblings.
You are a great mother, a mother of many children, you are a teacher, a lover, a friend, a prayer woman, a role model.
I will forever miss you Mum
I love you so so much Mum

A woman who did everything within her capacity to give her children the best. You were strong from the beginning to the end. Principled, pragmatic and practical. You were very principled and pragmatic in your approach to things, this I took for wickedness until I grew up. You did not mind whose ox is good as long as you played out the truth. Your heart was healthy towards both friends and foes. I believe you could have been a great political leader. A dutiful disciplinarian, you did not spare the rod. You lavishly and lovingly gave us a treat of the rod every day. For this, we are grateful. The very many rods have made us fit in the society. A woman of God said, if you do not discipline your children at home, the society will help you punish them. You did not leave us to be punished by society. For this, I say THANK YOU. You were indeed faithful to motherhood. Abiyamo tooto, Sun re o.
