This memorial website was created to honor the memory of my mother, Ida-Victoria  Cummings. My mother was a beautiful woman who took pride in being a mother to her two children. My mother was a large part of my life.I would often come to her for advice or comfort. It has taken time to recover from not having her around me. Please feel free to contribute to the memorial by adding photos, videos,or any stories you have to help honor her memory.

My cousin, Vikki and I would talk more on Facebook than we would on the phone. The last time I saw her, we drove her up to her moms birthday party. As usual, she had a big smile on her face and talked about her boys. She was my cousin with a big smile, who wanted to be loved and listened too. When she passed away, each day, one of our Facebook conversations popped up. It’s as if, she’s saying remember me! I pray that you are now Resting Peacefully with your dad, brothers and other loved ones. My sincere condolences to your immediate family.

I struggle to find the words to leave for my mother. Personally my mother was much more than the typical "mother" to me. She was my stylist, my inspiration and my example of how to love unconditionally. My mother constantly told me how proud of me she was, there were and still are many times I did things just to show off for my mother. As a child she had no limit to providing for us often working two jobs to make sure we didn't go without. I got my work ethic from her, "never give up was her motto". Now that she's no longer here I find myself at a lost. No words, no joy, no reason to smile at times. I wish there was more I could have done to keep you here. This will never be easy for me I will forever miss you. Thank you mom for being you. My Mother, My Father, My Best Friend

My sister Vicky had a name we shortened from an early age. She was the 4th child of Lucille and Irvin Holmes and is preceded in death by the 3rd and 5th children, brothers, who died in their 20's. Her full maiden name was Ida Mae Victoria Holmes. She was named Ida Mae after our maternal grandmother. She was a sweet, adorable child who struggled with ailments thru childhood and adulthood. She lived to her 60's while managing a different learning style, skin allergies, and even breast cancer. She never looked or acted her age! She leaves 2 sons, Chuckie and Marcelus(Tara), & grandson Jayden. I know she is in the loving arms of God, and is listening to stories from many relatives and friends who have gone before. No more fear, no more sickness, no more sorrow or confusion. RIP dear sister.❤

Vicki was my first cousin and I wish I could have talked to her more recently. I remember every time I seen her she always had a smile on her face and we would have good conversations. I posted my photo memories of her and I'm glad she can now rest now and is reunited with her dad, uncles and siblings. My condolences to her immediate family.

Family!

Vicki, is still my cousin, on my maternal side of the family. What stands out the most about Vicki, was her great desire to receive Love from other’s….Vicki, was unique and unorthodox in her thinking and sometimes in her actions!…She was a Mother/Grandmother, that wanted the best for her family, at times not knowing how to execute it properly. But, never the least, she wanted to FEEL Loved and give Love! Also, be a better person in general…We would talk mainly about what was happening with her son’s and grandson!….JESUS! Our Doctor (we had same doc) Hairstyles and men!- Vicki, would phone me, I’ll answer “Heeey!” that woman would never fail saying! (Sorry to disturb you!) I would say “Girl if you were disturbing me, I wouldn’t answered my phone! Stop saying that when you call me!” then we would laaaugh!…Now, I wish that she could phone me today and say “ Sorry to disturb you” my answer would be different today! I would say, thanks for checking on me!…It’s sooo good to hear your voice! Love you woman!
