Vickie, it’s been a long time but it seems like yesterday. I will always remember the first time that I ate Achu in America. This happened when you visited my husband and I while we were living in Washington DC. I can say your Achu was the best Achu even though your life was very short on earth, you left everlasting memories in my mind. You will forever be missed.

Where do I start. The first time I saw you was in Yaounde when you came to ngia Derrick's house. It felt like we had known each other for years. You were like a big sister to me. I went home one time to see papa and as soon as l walked into his bedroom, he pointed to your picture on his headboard. He could not speak but laughed himself to tears. That moment will never escape my memory. That picture never left his side. That is how much we all loved you but God loved you the most. I know you are watching over us from heaven. I miss you but the wonderful children you left behind consoles me from time to time. Continue to rest in HIS bosom until we meet someday to part no more. Forever in our hearts.

Vicky. Hard to come to terms with the fact that it's already 21 years since you left us. Seems like just yesterday when you started making achu in Md. You were one of the first to start making achu that met Cameroon standards. I remember when at the beginning you and Wilson used to try to get me to eat it and I would ask you "what will I tell my American friends if they asked me what I had for lunch?" We would all laugh about it.
I've met very few people in my lifetime who were more hardworking and caring. We thank God for the short time we had together. RIP till we meet again!

My dear aunty where do I start. But lords knows I have so many fond memories of you. You taught me so much about life, smiling always, fine tuning my braiding stills (not as good as your amazing daughter Bih) but good enough to make anyone feel proud that their hair was braided. You might be gone but your memory and presence is felt daily. Please continue to watch and pray for us... with abundant love and appreciation for your love of life and God...you are forever missed....

Her Life
April 9, 2019

Vicky Neh Mancho, daughter of Joseph Mukong and Scholastica Ndona was born on August 3rd, 1958 in Akum, NW Province, Republic of Cameroon. She was the first of eight children, four boys and four girls.

After primary and secondary school, Vicky attended “Centre Universitaire de Science et de la Santé” (C.U.S.S), in Yaoundé. While at C.U.S.S she studied Medical Tech and at the same time worked at Friendship Pharmacy. Upon graduation, Vicky joined the public service and later on traveled to the USA in 1985 for further studies. In May, 1991 she graduated from UDC with a B.Sc. In Medical Technology.

In 1994 Vicky commited her life to the Lord Jesus Christ with whom she went to be with on  Friday April 10th, 1998. She was also a member of Bethel Outreach Ministry in Baltimore, Maryland.

On April 17, 1990, she got married to Wilson Mancho. The happy union blessed the couple with two children, Bih and Atanga. The family moved back to Cameroon In 1992 and three years later, Vicky was diagnosed with Cancer. The battle had just began as she headed back to the States in February 1995. The fight raged for three years and she proved herself valiant in faith, courage, and encouragement to her friends and family members. In her sickness she continued to support her family in the spirit of a “Proverbs Chapter 31 Woman”. She did this by doing whatever she could to help her husband, brother, children and family at large.

We will all miss her!

May her soul Rest In Peace.
