Vijay Khare
Baba to us, Bandoo to his childhood friends, Ajoba to his grandkids, he meant so many different things to so many different people. Baba touched the lives of everyone he met.
Always jovial, witty and full of life, he was a fun company to have. He would make quick friends with almost anyone, no matter the other person's gender, age, stature, language or cultural background. He would remember little things about the interactions and connect with people in ways that was deep and meaningful.
He loved sports whether it be playing Badminton, acing a Carrom game or going Swimming or endlessly watching and commenting on Cricket. Baba was an attorney by profession but chose to work at a bank. His decades of working at Bank of Maharasthra in the loan recovery department had taught him that far too many people took large business bets and squandered away family fortunes. Learning from his first hand experience he always used to ensure that there was equal access and financial awareness in women and children to financial tools and the banking system, you could see him frequently open up a conversation or two to make his acquaintances more aware of banking, stock markets and financial instruments, he would love to help any underprivileged get to any bank just to open a free account and on their way to financial stability.
He was an active member of Lion's Club (Dist 323 A2) and wholeheartedly participated in charity work including to name a few helping the blind, running blood donation camps, organizing affordable eye glass camps, working in remote tribal areas for providing healthcare. He frequently leveraged his legal knowledge to help guide countless folks through the court systems, all mostly pro bono (despite the family's reservations).
His mischievous and quirky tastes were a reflection of his personality which was anything but vanilla. The kid in him would always be ready to jump and try something new, he was known to be "up to try anything" be it making practical jokes, visiting Disney land or deep diving into a topic on current affairs. He was religious and believed in the higher good.
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Vijay Khare, 73 years old, born on August 2, 1947, and passed away on May 11, 2021. May the mischievous kid in him will be remembered forever and May his soul achieve eternal peace!
