His Life
February 28, 2016

Vincent "Jim" Januchowski was known as a sweet man with beautiful blue eyes.  He seldom complained even during his multiple health set backs.  All he came in contact with commented on his kind demeaner and sky blue eyes.  It was ironic that those eyes failed him but he stayed as independent as he could with his "get around" vision.  He moved to NC to live with Chris and Ken in 2003 just after his 1st great grandson, Mason was born.  He spent the next 12 years watching him and his brother Connor grow up and he looked forward to their visits 2 or 3 times a week.  He loved to eat out and went to his favorite lunch spots every day with Ken.  All of restaurant workers and owners recognized him and called him by name.  They all missed him and asked about him if he was ill or in rehab. The highlight of his year was visiting his sister and nephew in Florida.  He enjoyed playing cards and going out with the "girls" from the retirement community there.  Even with poor eyesight, with a little help, he was able to play "nines" and everyone who came to visit was taught how to play so he could participate.
He passed away in his sleep after a Sunday of Panthers football and enjoying his favorite snack of Shrimp Cocktail!  Can't get much better than that!
