The children of Dr. Mrs Violet Arene would like to formally announce her passing to Glory.
It came as a shock to us because mum is “larger than life”, strong and vibrant.
We know she is in Glory, enjoying Jesus.
Mommy we miss you dearly.
you are a mother in a trillion.
You raised us, you encouraged us, you were our best friend.
No challenge was too big for you, no problem we brought was too small or trivial.
Mummy wrote a book titled - “amazing woman”, that was to celebrate every woman and motivate and inspire them to greater heights. I wonder if she knew she was talking about herself.
Mummy - AMAZING WOMAN.
you who brought joy to all who had the wonderful fortune of meeting you.
You who brought comfort and strength to all who were blessed enough to cross your path.
Your laughter still rings out.
Your smile still shines so bright.
You molded us, you touched us.
Beautiful mommy.
Loving wife who loved and cared for daddy for over 50 years; now you both are reunited.
No amount of words can describe our grief.
Pray for us mommy, give us strength to go on.
This special tribute is to you.
The pain is great. But out joy and our hope is the fact that you have gone to Glory! We love you mummy. We love you.
We draw strength in the scriptures: Romans 8:34; Psalm 116:15; 2 Corinthians 5: 6-8
We invite everyone who would like to pay tribute to our precious mother to do so on this platform. And to give us a few weeks to return to our Family Compound at Agboola Gomez, when we will be able to receive well wishers in person.
We will announce formal dates for her Celebration of Life events in both Lagos and Eziowelle, in the near future.
Sincerely, Dr Ikechukwu Arene. On behalf of me and my sisters, Dr. Nkiruka Arene and Dr. Ifeoma Arene

I met Mommy Violet Arene in Christ Chapel.
Mommy was a Bible scholar and naturally loved anyone who shared similar passion for the things of God.

She was a wonderful support to my husband Iyke and I when we published our very first set of books in 1998.
It was also a pleasant surprise to discover that she was Dr. Ik Arene's Mom. Such a small world.
Very accommodating and highly professional, she was strict, principled and very thorough.
Mommy featured us in her television show and never looked back in giving support whenever she could.

Mom is unforgettable!
She was a light indeed shining bright for all to see and give glory to God.

I only learnt of her death today and knew I just must express my sincere condolences to her Beloved family and well-wishers.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we have a blessed assurance that we all will meet at the feet of the Lord Jesus some day.

Dear mom, we love and miss you so. We miss your laughter, your hugs, your presence. As you are enjoying Glory, know that we appreciate you. We thank our Heavenly Father for the gift of you my dear mommy and friend so precious. Till now, people are still calling, to give their testimonies of how you touched their lives. You are wonderful mom. A true believer, ambassador of God. You did good!
Forever loved. Forever missed.
Your baby.

Dr. Violet Arene was one of a kind, a true servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, an inspirational figure who mentored and raised thousands of people to greatness during her lifetime. I met her in Los Angeles over ten years ago and she impacted my life profoundly through her love for the truth and empathy for the less privileged. Her television platform "Voice of Eve" was a great avenue for speaking up for women empowerment and other issues affecting the dispossessed and less privileged in society. That was why in 2015- Life and Times media, Hollywood CA honored her with a Community Service Award. She left such large shoes that will be difficult to fill. Our condolences to her family on this sad and irreparable loss and May the Almighty give you all the peace to bear her passing. - Sincerely, Chike Nweke, Publisher/CEO www.lifeandtimesmagazine.com

Mummy, I am shocked beyond words. I still cannot believe that you have gone to Glory. Dr Violet Arene, was not just a bosom friend but also my Mentor and Advisor. A truly amazing woman, I admired her so much, not only because of her physical beauty but more for her strength of character. She was an Achiever extraordinaire, a guru on women leadership issues, a wonderful Counselor, a strong Motivator who inspired people to live their dreams to the fullest. Above all, she was a devoted Christian who gallantly and tirelessly worked in the vineyard of God, leading men and women to God, thus saving many souls. Mummy I miss you dearly. Your exit without a word for me is very painful. However, to live in the minds of those who love you is not to die. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace on the bosom of our Lord Almighty.  May God grant your children and family members the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss... IJN ... Amen!

A Tribute from Americas Empowerment Institute “AEMPIN” for
Dr. Violet Nwakaego Arene.

It is with great humility that we write this tribute to a dear friend, colleague and mentor. When we heard of the passing of Dr. Arene, we were beyond shock as our Executive Director had just spoken to her the day before. We are still in shock and at a loss for words.

We want to express our deepest sympathies to the family of Dr. Violet Arene who was the best colleague anyone could have asked for. Dr Arene was full of energy, ideas, talent, and knowledge. All of these she exhibited with compassion to all that she came across. We find ourselves extremely fortunate to have a chance to know her, to work with her and share some beautiful memories with her. It was truly an honor for us to have a colleague like Dr. Arene who was like family.

Dr. Arene was a much-valued partner and colleague of our AEMPIN. She contributed in no small way to the growth and development of AEMPIN by her continued support of our goals and objectives. She received our 2018 Global Empowerment Awards for empowering African women to reach their full potentials. She was also a local partner of AEMPIN in Nigeria.

To date, over 10 million women have been transformed and empowered by Dr. Arena’s capacity empowerment via Lydia Rock Consulting, AEMPIN-African Women Capacity Building Network (AWCBN), AWLO and several books she authored, including Amazing Women. For over 60 years, Dr. Arena championed the cause of gender equity, women rights and gave voice to women all over Africa. She was loved by women across Africa, where she authoritatively gave birth to a new women narrative. She was a lioness of humility and grace, woman of women and mother of mothers. Her women liberation work earned her “Mummy” from all.

We are surely going to miss her every day and AEMPIN will always wish that she could be here to guide and contribute richly towards our programs as usual.

Dr. Arene’s ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ and her matchless voice changed the lives of millions. We mourn her passing but we know with absolute certainty that today she heard those words, “well done good and faithful servant.”

Dr. Arene, we love you and will place you in a special portion of our hearts now and forever more.

*An Amazing, Quintessential General in God’s Army has been called Home.*

I received the news of your home calling with sadness. Aunty Violet, Your passing marks the end of our relationship that has spanned decades. I remember our vibrant family fellowship in your apartment at 2nd Avenue Ikoyi which grew to become the New And Living Way Family Fellowship at your Home in Victoria Island. All the children looked forward to attending fellowship in "Aunty Arene’s” house.

You were a lover of people and to meet you was to admire you. Your broad, infectious smile and bubbly personality made welcome everyone who visited your home irrespective of their social status. I remember with nostalgia those Christmas parties we had in your premises with our Bar beach Boys; many of those boys who were lost came to embrace Christ and their self worth was restored. You had a large heart; you were a great encourager and counsellor par excellence.

I take solace in the knowledge that you now rest in the Lord’s bosom. My condolences go to your children - IK, Nkiru and Ifeoma who have lost a Gem.

Adieu Aunty Violet.

A Mother In Israel
The news of your passing came as a very rude shock and I am still battling to get over it. You were so full of life and ever smiling. Always fighting the cause of women, pushing and inspiring women to be their best. With dogged determination you fought for women inclusion as far as your strength would carry. Your programme Eve championed the cause of women. You related to those of us that were privileged to be chosen by you as a mother. You respected our persons and our choices even while trying to guide us through your own experiences. Your humility was out of this world and your personality modeled how a Christian woman should conduct herself. You exuded so much love for all that came your way. I wish I got much closer. I wish I called you everyday. I wish I did more. Now I cannot. We will miss you. I will miss you so dearly. You will forever be in my heart. Adieu and fare there well mummy.

TRIBUTE TO OUR MUM

I am writing in honor of someone who was dear to us here in AWLO, Mummy Violet Arene

Although I had not made contact with her or experienced her myself, I can say I've met her through everyone's testimony of her

Death is an important event in every man's life, as much we do not plan to lose loved ones it is inevitable.

It's most important that we learn from the life she lived. One full of impact, that speaks for her now and several years to come.

Im glad for the lives she changed, the example she has set

I know that she's in a peaceful and better place where all beautiful souls like hers go to rest. Let us all find comfort in this.

Dr/ Mrs Arene (the great one)
The news of your death came as the worst rude shock of my life. Words are never enough to express how I feel since I got the devastating news. Just weeks ago you remembered my birthday and sent me Mother’s Day Wishes. Your tutoring and the echo of my daughter which you call me it’s all I hear rumbling in my head and that I can’t get you off my head is driving me in sane. The women weep for you, your youth that looked up to you are weeping non stop. Awlo mourns, and I’ll mourn you like my own mother because you treated me like one. Your most cherished women whom you represented like no other, a vacuum that could never be filled, but we could only pray that our lord whom you gave yourself to will provide your loved ones great solace to endure.
Adieu Mom
Adieu my great one.
Adieu my great woman of worth.

Brother Samuel Esene;
It just dawned on me this morning that Mummy Violet Arene has actually passed on to greater glory and can never be seen for now while I await to be awakened up from sleep to hear her demise was one heck of a terrible nightmare.
With tears and a broken-heart,words fail me to describe properly her kindness and bright disposition to dealing with all and sundry;this Angelic personified being led. Mummy conducted the child -dedication service for all my children and I will be eternally grateful and relish the great moments.
However,I take comfort in the stead that she has gone to be with our Maker God Almighty who would always throw an open arms and say " Welcome my faithful and loyal servant into my bosom for staying in the faith all the way up until the transition"
I will really miss you greatly until the resurrection morning when we get to see our dead loved ones.

Adieu Mummy Viole Arene

“Mama” as we all call you. Mother to many of us including all of the pastors, some Area, provincial and even Regional Pastors.
The last message I listened to under your teachings and anointing was titled “I AM”.

I know there is a place called heaven and there you are now. It will not be a pansy heaven nor fragile heaven of lilies-of-the-valley but it will be heaven of white roses where the “I AM” will be standing closeby to welcome you home of eternal rest.

I may have moved out of Majek, but one thing for sure, that community and it entire residence will miss you, your contributions to the life of the youths whom you spent your retirement funds just to see them smile. How you engage the youths in different programs just to keep them out of trouble. The youths beat protocols and find their way to you knowing they will always get whatever they want. You were an advocate and voice for the helpless. You not only help with words, but rather use every humanitarian reasons available to see a solution is put in place.
Just if Roses grows in heaven I’ll ask God to help put some in your hand and say it’s from me.
You will forever be remembered sweet mama.

Even though I deeply mourn and almost feel devastated, I thank God because I’m confident that she’s gone to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr Mrs Arene was my big sister. She was a shining example of what we Christians ought to be in practice. If I needed a counsel on a very serious issue I’d call her. Once I faced a wicked persecution in the office and a concrete evidence of my innocence slipped from the enemy into my hands. I wanted to explode on my detractors. I went to my big sister. Her advice to me: “Say nothing, do nothing!”
Well I left and did as she advised. In a few days, the Lord fought the battle! My detractors were exposed and shamed and I came out victorious!
To God be the glory for her life.
I don’t remember ever writing a tribute.

It was hard to accept the death of our beloved aunt. She was very caring and indeed a blessing to the family. She picked me up and took care of my responsibilities right from when I was 15 years old till I went for NYSC.

She was our aunt but we all called her Mummy because she was constantly playing the role of a mother and above all, she led us to Christ and was always teaching us how to go about our practical lives and the challenges that we may face in every facets of our lives.

Last but not least, thank you for the great impact you made in our family. Your memories will live through me and everyone in Ezeanata Family.

May your soul rest in perfect peace in Jesus name, Amen!

AWLO has lost one of its greatest leader, our immediate past president. The passing of Dr. Violet Arene is an incalculable loss to AWLO, to the African Women and All women globally, to the lay public and to her many admirers and friends.

It is hard to find suitable words to pay a tribute to this truly remarkable woman.
Dr Violet Arene death is an absolute tragedy. She was throughout her time a lovely, genuine and deeply committed public servant.

There are few people who have had such a profound impact on the future direction of humanity than Dr Violet but hers was exceptional. Her understanding of the link between gender equality, human poverty and the quality of the girls child is undoubtedly influenced a generation of Women's rights.

It is a tribute to her passionate determination that so many people feel such a deep sense of loss at her passing.

I was fortunate enough to attend to her leadership classes and AWLO Conferences globally and within the country over the years and every time I met her I was struck by both the force of her personality and the quality of her intellect. Her passion shone through in everything she did, from her work on women’s equality to her tireless championing of the good leadership.

I like so many others, will miss her more than it is possible to describe and send my most heartfelt condolences to her children and to everyone who knew her, loved her and depended upon her.

African Women in Leadership Organization will miss you so much.

Rest in perfect peace Dr Violet Arene.

Dear Mum Arene,
It is with the saddest feeling of a great loss that I'm sending this tribute. It is unbelievable that you're gone and never to be seen, heard, or touched..as in hugged anymore! I met you for the first time at AWLO event at Sheraton Lagos, in 2015 and took a liking for you because of the way you spoke, you anchored a session with Senator Ita Giwa being her birthday.
We met after that again and you called me "darling daughter" and that drew me to you in a way I couldn't explain. When in June 2017, I sent you an Invite to my 2nd daughters wedding, not knowing you travelled to the U.S, you promised me you would attend the wedding..and you did. You came all the way from the U.S and arrived Eket L.G.Area in Akwa Ibom state, and stayed for four (4) whole days through the Traditional Marriage and the Church Wedding! That was what ONLY A GOOD & LOVING MOTHER could do!!! A gesture that my family and I have taken so seriously that you became our mother.
Now you're gone! Where does this exit leave us mum? We will miss you're exemplary life, speeches, trainings, actions, counsels, prayers, and so much more. It's painful to let go mum. Who will serve me those nurishing fruits you serve when I come visiting in your home..? Oh mum!!! My family and I can only pray that the Lord comfort her family with the fortitude to bear this huge loss, and say..Adieu Mum. Rest in the bosom of our Lord, Till we meet to part no more!!!

I can't find adequate words to say, DR.VIOLET ARENE has been an amazing person i ever met, it was only one year since i met her, we met In AWLc 2019 which took place in Rwanda.

Despite of my age she treated me as a friend, gave advices and encouraged me to be the person i dream to become. She was a woman who said what she meant and meant what she said, she was a woman who kept her word.

Her kind and humble heart brought me closer to her, she treated me as her very own daughter, the distance wasn't a matter, her love and care neutralised all the hinders and barriers and every time we talked it seemed like we were close.

I remember on 15th.may.2020 i texted her after alongtime without talking, and within few minutes she texted me back telling me that she has been sick but she is getting better, i didn't know it would go worse, and on 18th.may.2020 it's when i heard the bad news that she has passed away, to be honest i taught i was in dream,i was also sick at the moment but when i saw the news i don't know what happened i forgot about my pain and remembered all the promises i gave her.

Life ain't fair, but the Almight is fair and sovereign, am sad that she passed away without seeing who i am becoming after all the advises, gifts and blessings she declared upon me, but am glad That her Soul is kept with Christ's in heaven.

If any of her children or grandchildren can see this please i would like to meet you, am faustine i live in Rwanda.

I love you mum ❤
Rest in Peace

I never got the opportunity to meet you one on one but even before I joined this prestigious life changing organization last year I already read and heard powerful things about you, lovely testimonies from our platform around the world of the kind of mother and mentor that you were.
You are a great African Woman of Worth, your works and legacy lives on.
We will miss you Mama.

*Dr. Violet Arene, A Woman of Capacity*

It is a great honor to be able to pay tribute to this great woman of worth, a capacity builder, a philanthropist and a gentle woman. My first interaction with Dr Arene was in Atlanta where she warmly embraced me as a newcomer to AWLO.
I give great gratitude for the exemplary life she led and the life of faith that she portrayed. Her encouragement when any woman showed despondency by announcing that she truly admired your good qualities and attributes, would reaffirm her believe in your strength.

Even when she was hurting deeply, she would put it aside to console you. Her words of wisdom still rings in my ears, her lectures encouraging, stimulating and inspiring; her zest infectious.

Her capacity to value her self-worth and remind others of this was endless.

Dr. Arene was a true woman of capacity and her capacity was boundless.

Hers was a life well lived. A joy to behold and a woman universally loved.

We will miss you but live in the hope of meeting you again.

*Adieu Mummy and sleep on. *

I met mummy in 1999, and she showed me so much love. I'm comforted knowing that she has gone to be with JESUS. She was such a loving and caring person, a strong Christian and always willing to help and mentor. The nation and the world indeed has lost a special woman. My sincere condolences go to her family and loved ones.

The great Mum Dr Arene...

I celebrate the life you led, filled with integrity and care for humanity.

You were a wonder woman and a fighter for the rights of women, an advocate to empower women and a light for guiding humanity.

You are worthy of every tribute given.

Every woman was your daughter and I often wondered how you pulled it off. I asked you once and you smiled in your characteristic manner and said quite simply that with love comes capacity. And truly you loved us.

I can only hope to be the kind of woman you were...and continue your work for humanity.

That would be the best tribute one can give to your legacy...to live a life of impact so worthy of celebrating.

Rest in peace great Mum Dr....

Your light shines on...

MUMMY DEAREST
Hello Mummy, this is your daughter, Your "Dependable Joke" , " Joke Nwamm" your, mentee, your Special Assistant, Your baby, You called me beautiful, strong woman, achiever, your go-getter, hmmm! These were some of your choice adjectives, they were names to you but, piercing deep into my soul, they were motivating and encouraging to me ,still too, they described you vividly.
Mummy you walked the earth for 78 years , not mere years , I perceive them as solid and powerful, fruitful and impactful. You and I set sail on the AWLO boat same day and for me it was an amazing start .
You stirred lives aright, you led indeed, you mentored you challenged and you shook tables of leadership.
Mum, mum! Did you truly take this walk off the cliff without a whisper of hope? I tell myself, lo , she sleeps and will awake , I wish I could draw closer to part your eyelids peradventure you would pity us and come again to top the icing on the cake you put in the oven to bake.
The global young generation females even males were full of expectation for your ginger and push, with that v0oice of resounding echoes , palpable and loud enough to dare the toughest heart. What a game changer you were.
I looked out for you at every conference we attended together, cared about your meals, your sleeping and your awakening, I knew you needed me so I waited on you, I didn't want to hear you whin at the least.
Oh ! Mum, so this is it! This is your goodbye to women, young ladies and the Heforshe of the globe, so this is how far you could go. Your biological children are broken and completely put into confusion and overwhelmed. Dr Elisha and his family are in want of words to describe your motherly care, Ben de Genius, Ekemini, Nosa and the rest of the AWLO media crew would look for you for succor and support.
The AWLO Rivers Chapter women, patrons and Youths are sunken in their hearts as I write. My husband looked at me with pity and sympathy for what he deduced from my commitment to you.
I loved you so much and still do, you knew it so take it with you to heaven , I have asked God to put you in the best part of His kingdom, you served Him, you fed him and you clothed Him.
Rest mum, just rest, we will meet when we all finish our race like you did yours.

On behalf of myself , the AWLO Rivers chapter, the youths, patrons ,the good people of Rivers State and the government.
Adieu great Dr Violet Arene.

Big Mummy,
I am still in shock
The first time I met you was at the toastmasters training. Your smile, your warmth and motherly love was so touching. Your passion for young women is worthy of emulation. Thank you for giving my first TV spotlight in 2017 and other opportunities after.

Words ellude me, am battling to understand what has happened.ARE YOU REALLY DEAD?

Mum,did you know that some chapters of people's lives will be closed with you exiting this World now?Are you aware that so many people have been on the line to hold meetings, seek advice, recieve counsel, share in your warmth, source academic materials, get your endorsements after this lockdown or simply check on you.?Are you aware that you were being so missed already by so many under this lockdown?

You are too much of a life for too many people and is going to be difficult for folds of people you have touched and touching their Lives to adapt to a life without you ....NOT NOW!!!

In my home sleep was not found since the news was broken. The boys you prayed for via a phone from the US after their surgery years back has been dead cold and around me with a sunk heart and prying gloomy eyes .Am confused and asking too many questions because you assured me you are all well just a couple of weeks ago. What about the G19 Faculty that you gave your all including your tears to birth ? What about the young Women around the world that have clustered around you with hunger for knowledge ?

Why now Mum? I can't hold.

But you said to me....I SAW THE I AM THAT I AM...I think I know exactly what that means and I deeply thank you for choosing me for that Message.

Your several years of matchless committment and Investment in Women's capacity building in Africa through the various plartforms you established is a loud testament of how selfless you are "My Distinguished African Woman of Worth".How previledged was I to have met you on this same assignment.

You have impacted Mankind and Led many to Christ!!!!

A Leader so strong yet so compassionate!!! A Leader so disciplined yet so considerate...A Leader of truth. I today once again acknowledge all your sacrifices, the tremendous contributions and excellent delivery on assignments as you worked with me as my immediate superior and the President of the African Women in Leadership Organisation. You are phenomenal and Yes you are a legacy!

Unto Death,Myself,Gabby and the Kids honour you for your uprightness and genuine Love.

I am devastated ,but I know angels recieved you GO WELL MY MOTHER!!! MENTOR !!!!! LEADER AND PARTNER IN CHRIST!

Mummy Arene, so much to talk about, so much to gist with no one to share with. Oh death where is thy sting? It has not gotten any easier since i heard of your demise and i am still struggling to believe.

Nwanyi oma, you left a void that no one could fill, no matter how much they try. I miss you dearly.

You were a beautiful woman inside out and a wonderful mother, sister and friend to me. Your strength and agility literally light up any room you walk into with your smile and warmth.

The fact that you are no longer here will cause me pain but you will be forever in my heart until we meet again. Your life was love and labour, you lived for your family and others, you will always be remembered.

Although my heart is heavy, its full of love knowing that haven has gained one of its brightest stars.

Ezi nwanyi continue to rest in peace until we meet again.

We thank our Heavenly Father for the gift of you my dear mommy and friend so precious. Till now, people are still calling, to give their testimonies of how you touched their lives. You are wonderful mom. A true believer, ambassador of God. You did good!
Forever loved. Forever missed.

My sweet mother,  my special GIFT from God, my teacher of compassion, love , and fearlessness. It breaks my heart that we spoke at length last week, we touched almost all areas that ended with your usual prayers and blessings for me and my family, but you mention leaving me this soon! I just lost the sweetest Woman on Earth. You remained a valued part of AWLO, who made tremendous contributions to the advancement of women's leadership, and will be missed.
Dear mummy Arene, the content and substance of your character will remain an abiding legacy to us whom you have left behind. I celebrate you, my Sweet Mother.
I want to Specially thank you for reminding us about the value in eternity. You have taught us that life itself is the punctuation of Time with high and low moments. This endless stream of existence you have swum to its very end, leaving behind valuable lessons in a life and a lifetime well lived. May your Sweet spirit REST IN PEACE. My condolences to your Children and family.

TRIBUTE TO OUR DEAR SISTER AND AUNTY DR MRS VIOLET ARENE nee EZEANATA.

A Great Inspirer, A Most Benevolent and Lively Heart and a Great Achiever. Tell me what you have set your mind on or goal that you have set and failed to achieve. Overtime, I have studied and learnt under you and have come to know that the biblical saying "with God all things are possible" is real.
A few months ago you celebrated 78 years of age, full of life and vigor. You had so much to share with the younger generation, especially the women folk. Your words were/ are like diamond maintaining their sparkling and brilliant values.  You were not only a mentor to your children, but to women around you. You were universally a mother to so many people nurturing them to greatness/ stardom.
You were such a wonderful pillar of support to us ( Ezeanata's family) standing strongly behind your siblings. Whoever came around you was blessed with some prayers, words of advice and inspiration. What a benevolent heart.
I make bold to say that you were a rare gem, like a comet that shone through the sky.
We love you our Dear Sister and we miss you so dearly. We take solace in the fact that God loves you more and that you are a daughter of Zion. REST IN PERFECT PEACE IN JESUS NAME.

Signed
Sir Dr Walter Ezeanata for the family.
