ForeverMissed

The children of Dr. Mrs Violet Arene would like to formally announce her passing to Glory.
It came as a shock to us because mum is “larger than life”, strong and vibrant.
We know she is in Glory, enjoying Jesus.
Mommy we miss you dearly.
you are a mother in a trillion.
You raised us, you encouraged us, you were our best friend.
No challenge was too big for you, no problem we brought was too small or trivial.
Mummy wrote a book titled - “amazing woman”, that was to celebrate every woman and motivate and inspire them to greater heights. I wonder if she knew she was talking about herself.
Mummy - AMAZING WOMAN.
you who brought joy to all who had the wonderful fortune of meeting you.
You who brought comfort and strength to all who were blessed enough to cross your path.
Your laughter still rings out.
Your smile still shines so bright.
You molded us, you touched us.
Beautiful mommy.
Loving wife who loved and cared for daddy for over 50 years; now you both are reunited.
No amount of words can describe our grief.
Pray for us mommy, give us strength to go on.
This special tribute is to you.
The pain is great. But out joy and our hope is the fact that you have gone to Glory! We love you mummy. We love you.
We draw strength in the scriptures: Romans 8:34; Psalm 116:15; 2 Corinthians 5: 6-8
We invite everyone who would like to pay tribute to our precious mother to do so on this platform. And to give us a few weeks to return to our Family Compound at Agboola Gomez, when we will be able to receive well wishers in person.
We will announce formal dates for her Celebration of Life events in both Lagos and Eziowelle, in the near future.
Sincerely, Dr Ikechukwu Arene. On behalf of me and my sisters, Dr. Nkiruka Arene and Dr. Ifeoma Arene

Mummy Arene

My encounter with you was an eye opener. I discussed my health issues with you and my fears but you prayed with me and said "Olarotimi, you will be fine, I wish you journey mercies"... You were the first person I called returning to Nigeria.

You will forever be missed. My condolences with the family and may the Almighty grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Rest in Peace Mummy Arene

Lighting a candle from the US. I apologize for posting - but when I was logging in to the app - your memorial was the first I saw ... and my sis in law is from Kenya ... so I wondered if somehow you may be related ... and of course, in God, we are all brothers and sisters. Your Mum is so beautiful, I feel her energy radiating from heaven. God bless you all.

Anty Vio, so sad to hear of your passing. The whole of our community hear in Lagos morn you. I will miss your enthusiastic, passionate and vivacious character.
A woman passionate about whatever her hand finds to do. A woman who believes in the family unit.
I recall how you came to Television broadcasting as the presenter 'Kith and Kin' that very first episode, how many takes we took------the rest is history .
Above all she was passionate about her God and was bold to introduce Him to as many as crossed her path. My joy is the assurance that you are with the Lord even though you are greatly missed. My sincere condolences to Ik, Nk and Ify .

Mummy it's not long I knew you, but after going through some of your videos,it's like I've known you for years, .
The video of your 77th birthday marked me greatly when you said at 77 yrs you are still searching the bag if there is any last seed to sow. There I understood that there is no reason for me to not impact the world
Mummy you have left a legacy and you have been immortalised in us. Your teachings and counsels live forever

Forever in our hearts, Rest in the Lord mummy Voilete Arene

*Africa just lost a powerful woman*

I just can't hold back the tears as it's rolling down my eyes as I type these words .

A great leader, a powerful teacher ,a great mentor to so many young women out there .
I remember in 2018 when the AWLO youth council Rivers State chapter had a session with you to fetch from your well of knowledge. All that I know about "Character & Leadership" you taught me .

In Rwanda 2019 you were excited to see me at the AWLC conference, you said to me
"you are the next generation female leader" you are on the right path! I will never forget these words in my life .

You impacted so much to me and so many young women.I got so much value from you ,the way you speak with so much power and strength! I just love you mummy Arene, wished you were still here to see all your girls, doing powerful things in Africa!

On behalf of the AWLO Youth council Rivers State chapter .

Hmmmmmmmm. I'm speechless. Mummy you came into my life and taught me that women should uphold each other. I can still remember my first meeting with you in your studio in Lekki. That morning you shared a lot on your works. We clicked instantly. You had big plans for the female child and women in general. Mummy with the big kind and generous heart. You were ready to pour out your heart to whoever that was ready to learn.

I remember when I approached you to be my keynote speaker at the inauguration of my NGO Helpzeebah Women Empowerment Initiative. You were just too glad to accept. And in your usual manner you were there on time. As you do not tolerate lateness of any form. You stayed till the end of the program and mingled with women hungry for knowledge.

I also remember working with you on way forward on AWLO. We had series of meetings rubbing minds. But unfortunately I had to leave Nigeria but you forged ahead and I'm so glad that so many things we talked about at meetings held in your studio came to pass. I was really looking forward to coming to see you at my next visit to Nigeria. But alas God knows best. I have no fear that you have impacted so many that it won't be difficult to get women continue from where you stopped. Your dreams, vision and aspirations cannot die with you. You are too detailed for that.

Death you have lost the battle big time. You have only created room for many more foot soldiers on rampage. My sis Maureen I know how devastated you are right now. You and I know that the dreams and plans cannot die. Because mummy has prepared many ladies that can continue her legacy. Wipe your tears and get to work. We can't fail mummy now.

Women must lift women up and work in collaboration.

Adieu mummy Arene. Always on my mind. Continue to rest in peace.

Mummy Arene!!!!!
I got to know you in the 80s when Nki and I became friends. You were so beautiful and fashion trendy. You were so loving to me and always made me feel welcomed at any time in your home.
We thank God that you lived and not just for yourself and your family, but also for others.
The virtues you have poured into many lives will continue to build in generations to come.
You are missed so much and I thank God that I got to know you.

The news of the demise of Dr.Mrs Violet Arene (Mommy) as she is fondly called came to me as a rude shock. I chatted with her on Mother's Day and prayed with her and she wished me well as is her custom. I have met people in my life but this is one virtuous woman I met that impacted into my life tremendously. She was always full of life, charm, confidence, wisdom, love, infectious smiles and above all the word of God to those who came in contact with her.
I will never forget the profound memories I had with Mommy in Banjul in May 2019 where she poured out all her fountain of wisdom to raise up a group of formidable African Women leaders known as the AATP G19 . That experience is still indelible in my mind.
Mommy you were indeed a virtuous wife, a loving mother to me and all who crossed your path. I know you have slept in the Lord.
Rest on Woman of God.
May your gentle Soul Rest in peace. Amen

Thank you Mum, for stepping in to be my God-mother.
You always said I will inherit your Library. I know if you knew this day was nearer... you would have done a proper bequeathing.
Nevertheless, you lit a light in my soul and it has become a fire forever.
Rest on Mum; Dr. Violet Arene

My sweet mother, my special GIFT from God, my teacher of compassion, love , and fearlessness. It breaks my heart that we spoke at length last week, we touched almost all areas that ended with your usual prayers and blessings for me and my family, but you mention leaving me this soon! I just lost the sweetest Woman on Earth. You remained a valued part of AWLO, who made tremendous contributions to the advancement of women's leadership, and will be missed.
Dear mummy Arene, the content and substance of your character will remain an abiding legacy to us whom you have left behind. I celebrate you, my Sweet Mother.

I want to Specially thank you for reminding us about the value in eternity. You have taught us that life itself is the punctuation of Time with high and low moments. This endless stream of existence you have swum to its very end, leaving behind valuable lessons in a life and a lifetime well lived. May your Sweet spirit REST IN PEACE. My condolences to your Children and the entire family.

RIP DR VIOLET ARENE
-
Tears in my eyes, pain in my heart. This hurts badly...lost contact with you for a long time but you never stopped searching for me. When you got back to Nigeria not quite long, after spending time with your children in America, your joy after finally reaching me was surely mutual.
We had lunch at Ediye and concluded plans for your birthday/book launch.
-
Your regular calls, especially when you havent heard from me. Your love for late Night calls, first I thought it was jet lag but was soon to realise that Mummy loved working and staying up late. I would insist you rest and not to be awake.
-
"Nwam" you would call me...oh Mama...this hurts. The calibre of speakers at your birthday and book launch tells a lot about who you are. As I hurt, I can only imagine how everyone who came that day must be feeling now because that was the last major event you did this year.
-
O dear Mama, when you reached out to me to help coordinate the event, I thought to myself, I have done things for people I do not even know, not to talk of you. You told me you loved the set up, you never stopped reeling about it, I am thanking God now that the event was not postponed. I could reach the urgency in your heart and I was committed to you to help make it work and successful it was...hmm...never knew that was your last major event...February 7th 2020.

Momma! Momma! Can you hear me? It's your Emem baby calling you! God brought you into my life when I was broken and needed a strong support system. You took me under your wings and mothered me and my children. You loved me with all your heart and you taught me excellence. You taught me I don't need to queue as I had all I needed to be at the top where there are a lot of vacancies. You taught me leadership. You taught me accountability. You taught me strength. You taught me to laugh in the face of adversity. I'm devastated momma Arene. You didn't prepare me for your exit. No na! I'm not ready to let you go... Not ready.... not ready mom! Your Emem baby is not ready mbok. You are not supposed to die. You were to live until Christ returns! Please come back.

I met Mommy Violet Arene in Christ Chapel.
Mommy was a Bible scholar and naturally loved anyone who shared similar passion for the things of God.

She was a wonderful support to my husband Iyke and I when we published our very first set of books in 1998.
It was also a pleasant surprise to discover that she was Dr. Ik Arene's Mom. Such a small world.
Very accommodating and highly professional, she was strict, principled and very thorough.
Mommy featured us in her television show and never looked back in giving support whenever she could.

Mom is unforgettable!
She was a light indeed shining bright for all to see and give glory to God.

I only learnt of her death today and knew I just must express my sincere condolences to her Beloved family and well-wishers.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we have a blessed assurance that we all will meet at the feet of the Lord Jesus some day.

You are wonderful mom. A true believer, ambassador of God. You did good!

TRIBUTE TO OUR DEAR SISTER AND AUNTY DR MRS VIOLET ARENE nee EZEANATA.

A Great Inspirer, A Most Benevolent and Lively Heart and a Great Achiever. Tell me what you have set your mind on or goal that you have set and failed to achieve. Overtime, I have studied and learnt under you and have come to know that the biblical saying "with God all things are possible" is real.
A few months ago you celebrated 78 years of age, full of life and vigor. You had so much to share with the younger generation, especially the women folk. Your words were/ are like diamond maintaining their sparkling and brilliant values.  You were not only a mentor to your children, but to women around you. You were universally a mother to so many people nurturing them to greatness/ stardom.
You were such a wonderful pillar of support to us ( Ezeanata's family) standing strongly behind your siblings. Whoever came around you was blessed with some prayers, words of advice and inspiration. What a benevolent heart.
I make bold to say that you were a rare gem, like a comet that shone through the sky.
We love you our Dear Sister and we miss you so dearly. We take solace in the fact that God loves you more and that you are a daughter of Zion. REST IN PERFECT PEACE IN JESUS NAME.

Signed
Sir Dr Walter Ezeanata for the family.
