Virgie May Gassler of Aura, NJ (nee. Erdwein) passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2017 at age 86.

Daughter of John and Elizabeth Erdwein. Wife of the late Emil Gassler, loving mother of six; Linda Williams (Alex Hill), William Gassler (Dorothy), Betty Sosini (Angelo), Brenda Schein (Alan), Tim Gassler (Rosa Vasquez) and the late Steven Gassler. Grandmother of Christine, Brian, Kim, Angela, Michael, Joel, Christopher, Stevie, Joshua, Natalie, Emily, Gina and also a great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to many.

Virgie was a member of the Aura Fire Co. for over 35 years and an EMT for Ferrel and Franklinville Ambulance Squad. She was an EMT instructor at Gloucester County College for twenty years, and state evaluator for fifteen years in the State of New Jersey. She was awarded EMT instructor of the year in the State of New Jersey in 1987.

Memorial Service at Aura Methodist Church on October 7th at 11:00 AM. Luncheon following at Aura Fire Company. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Aura Fire Company, 909 Aura Road Glassboro, NJ 08028.
