Virginia Reynolds Wooldridge, age 99, died at the home of her daughter on Tuesday, February 23, 2015.

Virginia was born in Falston, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ruth Cassell Reynolds and George Reynolds, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Andrew Wooldridge, her sister, Mary Ruth Bundy, and her brother George Reynolds, III.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Mary Ruth Edmundson and husband Gene of Oxford, NC and her son, Charles Andrew Wooldridge, Jr. of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Ginny Edmundson Hicks and husband Mark of Oxford, Mary Scott Burt and husband David of Virginia Beach, VA., and five great-grandchildren.

Virginia will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and positive attitude toward all. She truly lived by "The Golden Rule," treating everyone with dignity and respect. She had no enemies and was loved by all who knew her. Her life was an example of grace and optimism. She was deeply dedicated to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where she was the oldest member.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk, VA. with the Rev. James Pahl officiating. The family will receive friends at her daughter's residence, 182 Pine Cone Dr. Oxford.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 140 College St., Oxford, NC or Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US 1 Hwy Suite B, Franklinton, NC 27525.

The family wishes to express a special heartfelt thanks to caregivers Bertha Wyche, Doris Peace, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.

Due to inclement weather conditions, the service for Virginia Wooldridge will be conducted at 1:00 P.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Oxford, N.C.
