Her Life
November 29, 2015

Mrs. Thompson was born in LaGrange, Georgia on May 5, 1929, the daughter of the late Annie and Arnie Pike. She was a faithful member of the Franklin United Methodist Church, and was retired from West Point Pepperell where she was a weaver. After her retirement she spent much time creating beautiful embroidered and crocheted pieces for family and friends. Receiving one of her pieces of sewn artwork was a joy for any who were a lucky recipient! She loved spending time in her flower beds, and enjoyed seeing them bloom to their full beauty! One of her all- time favorite events was attending the Heard County Senior Citizens luncheons. Being with her friends, while enjoying a good meal was a great treat to her! She was especially fond of the times they spent in the quilting circle, creating quilts that would eventually be sold to help someone in need. The greatest joy of her life was being with her children and grandchildren. Her love for them, and her Lord was of utmost importance to her. She will long be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Bass of Franklin, GA., and Ann Longoria (Pete) of LaGrange, GA.; one son Huel Thompson (Cathy) of Franklin, GA.; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Thompson also of Franklin, GA.; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband and son, Wortham and Robert Thompson; sister, Dorothy Rich; and brother, Lloyd Pike.
