Obituary

December 7, 2010

Walter Narr III took his own life at home in Pollock Pines on November 30, 2010 at the age of 45. He was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Paul George Narr of Winters, California.

Walt is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years Cathy, sons Eddie 16 and Jake 11. In addition, Walt is survived by his parents Walter and Leona Narr Jr. of Pollock Pines, sister Anita and brother in law, Jeff Boone of Davis, nephews Adam and Eric, sister in law Michelle Narr of Winters, niece Peyton and nephew Jack. Walt has a large, loving extended family, which includes Uncle Johnny Young of Plymouth and many cousins.

Walt was born in Sacramento on September 20, 1965 and attended elementary and high school in Davis. After graduation, he attended Sacramento City College, studied Aircraft Mechanics, and graduated June, 1991 with his Air Frame and Power Plant license. After completing college, he and Cathy then moved to Pollock Pines. He worked 3 years for his grandpa Rueben Young at Young's Earth Movers in Fiddletown, along with his Uncle Johnny, where he learned a lot about heavy equipment. Then in 1994 he began working for Yolo County Department of Transportation in Woodland, commuting daily to and from Pollock Pines for 3 years. In 1997 he started working for El Dorado County Department of Transportation as Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor for 12 years. A position for advancement, as Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, opened up with El Dorado Irrigation District and he worked there for exactly 1 year.

Walt loved riding his Kawasaki ZX10. He and Paul, for their 40th birthday, did a motorcycle trip, from the west coast to the east coast, which ended abruptly due to Hurricane Katrina.  In the year 2000, Walt rode his 76 Harley Davidson to Sturgis with Paul and their father. Walt has been to many beautiful places which includes Hawaii, the east coast from Maine to New York, and Alaska. After his visit to Alaska, he yearned to go back. He loved living in the mountains, especially when it was snowing. He also enjoyed riding around on the quads, on his 23 acres with his family and neighbors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wonderful wife and sons.

A memorial service is planned at the Church of the Foothills, 2380 Merrychase Drive in Cameron Park, at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, December 11th, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a college fund for Walt and Cathy's sons, Eddie and Jake Narr, through the El Dorado Savings Bank.
