ForeverMissed

Walt was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and friend. He loved people, so we spent a lot of time socializing – entertaining, traveling, concerts, garage sales and just walking around the neighborhood. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors in general. He was raised to a Mason in Lodge #753 on February 25, 2016, taking his oath with the utmost sincerity, committed to being a better man. He was a true patriot who loved his country and was known for his patriotic t-shirts (and flannel shirts!). He knew our Constitution and devoted his time and resources to ensuring those rights, especially our Second Amendment. He inspired everyone who knew him through his quiet demeanor, hard work, commitment and integrity. What I heard most: Walt would do anything for anyone.

Our loss is great, but God is greater.

Walter A. Sarapata, age 67, was born in Xenia, Ohio on January 22, 1954 and he took Jesus’s hand on October 30, 2021. He graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1973. He worked for Taylor Plumbing for 20 years, honing his plumbing skills for side plumbing jobs and to help others with theirs. He worked for the City of Beavercreek for 20 years, retiring in 2020, liking nothing better than mowing grass. He is survived by wife Cathy (to him, always his high school sweetheart!); sons, Thomas R. Kreitzer (Maureen) and Brandon J. Kreitzer; Grandson Caleb Kreitzer and Granddaughter Emery Kreitzer, both the apples of their Grandpa’s (“No-Deer”) eye. He is also survived by twin brother Wayne (Ellen), brother Stephen (Nancy); sister Susan (Stephen); sister Jay (K.C.); mother-in law, Jean Thorpe; sister-in-law, Jo Stewart and brother-in-law Jim Thorpe, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

My deepest condolences. Just came across of a VW Karmen Ghia and remembered Mr. Sarapata driving us to Little League practice (Courtney's Gulf).  I wondered what Walt and Wayne were up to.  Wayne, my thoughts are with you and your family.

I miss you dearly Brother. Every time I go to Lodge, I look for your smile at the door, but then I have to remember you are in a far better place and that gives me comfort. Rest easy Walt!

Missing a friend

February 25, 2022
Though I didn't know Walt well in high school, we did get somewhat acquainted on the softball fields a few years later, then we really got to know each other after he and Cathy were together. We were both pitchers on different teams and I remember Walt's competitiveness, never missing the chance for a good ribbing when you didn't get a hit off him. Years later, when he was with Cathy, he hadn't changed, always a joke or a jab along with that big smile of his.
He left way to soon, I will miss him.

There is none like Walt.  Greatly loved, greatly missed.  A light and a joy in this world.  [Nehemiah 8:10 -  "The joy of the Lord is your strength"]
