Though I didn't know Walt well in high school, we did get somewhat acquainted on the softball fields a few years later, then we really got to know each other after he and Cathy were together. We were both pitchers on different teams and I remember Walt's competitiveness, never missing the chance for a good ribbing when you didn't get a hit off him. Years later, when he was with Cathy, he hadn't changed, always a joke or a jab along with that big smile of his.
He left way to soon, I will miss him.
