Dad, I miss you every single day. I miss sharing a drink, having you over for dinner, your jokes and laughter...I want to call you up and ask for advice. You always had the most amazing insights on life. So loving and always so proud of me and each of your children. I could really use one of your bone-crushing hugs, Dad. I'd better get one when we meet again. I love you, always.

I only met Walt once, but heard about him over my lifetime. He was a friend of my Dad's, Fred Marshall, since early school years. Walter visited my parents over the years. I felt privileged to meet Walt when Tamara and Gary brought him to visit for both our Dad's last visit. They played music for all of us. Who would guess that two life long friends would die 5 days apart.
