Although it has been 11 years, I still miss you every day. Seeing your kind face and gentle eyes, and hearing your voice singing brings tears to my eyes. Your love and the lessons you taught us are forever with me. I try to be as good of a parent to my own children as you were to us, but you’re a hard act to follow daddy. Always in my heart. ❤️

I miss you Daddy. Your voice, dancing in the living room to your music, our daily phone calls, knowing that no matter what you are there for me and love me. I miss your adventurous spirit that lead you to play with us in crazy ways - sledding on Schweitzer at 92 - you rock!!! Teaching me family first, always. I feel so fortunate that we were able to go beyond father daughter to friendship. I love you ❤️

I only met Walt once, but heard about him over my lifetime. He was a friend of my Dad's, Fred Marshall, since early school years. Walter visited my parents over the years. I felt privileged to meet Walt when Tamara and Gary brought him to visit for both our Dad's last visit. They played music for all of us. Who would guess that two life long friends would die 5 days apart.

Dad loved going on drives and we often drove around the dike road and to independence point. This evening there was the most beautiful sunset and we sat and watched the sun go down

God's Garden

January 15, 2013

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone…
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
