He was preceded in death by His Father, Claude Houston Knowles, his Mother, Ruby Louise Knowles and Brother Claude Franklin Knowles... Those left to Cherish his memory “Until We Meet Again"... His loving Wife of 36 years, Annette Adams Knowles, His Daughter April Lynn Campbell (Jarrod) and their combined children Connor, Kaylin, Ian, Gracie & Bailey... His Sons, Jonathan Claude Knowles, and Alexander Craig Knowles, as well as The last living pillar of the Knowles family, His Beloved Sister Wynona Louise Windsor (Merrell) her Daughter Diane Baker & son Jake, Her Son James Baker and daughters Shelby & Julia as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.

Walter Leon Knowles (or as he was lovingly referred to as “Lonnie”) was born March 12th 1957 in Portsmouth Virginia to Ruby and Claude Knowles... Where his dad was stationed in the Navy... they moved to the little city of Lipscomb Alabama as young boy, where his parents were originally from to be close to family... Just before he was 18yrs old he joined the United States Army in the year 1974 covered in the love and prayers of his parents he soon was stationed on the other side of the world in Germany where he served his country as a mechanic in the motor pool working on tanks... Lonnie was a hardworking, devoted Husband to his wife of 36 years, A Loving Father of 3 & Grandfather of 4 (so far) he had envisioned 9 grandchildren in all (no pressure) he will meet them later... His favorite thing to say was "hey, have I told you I love you today?" And “I love you, ALWAYS!” and He did, with all of his heart! He took Every opportunity to teach his children and grandchildren all that he knew, whether it be life lessons or working skills, Which were abundant for he was always determined to provide for his family! His most skillful trade was Journeyman Electrician and Air Compressor mechanic until he started his own business with his Nephew James Baker where they combined their talents and were able to do all things (#EverWhatchaNeed!) Home or Commercial until he Retired early in 2012 on Doctor's orders... This allowed him to finally work on some Honey-Do- Lists at home and be even closer to his grandchildren as well as his sons in their many mechanical issues with cars... Even though he sometimes jokingly called them "Nuttier Than a Fruit Cake" or a "Bone Head" He Never Gave up on them and he Always Had their Back! He was Blessed to be a member of the Body of Christ and joined together with The Heritage Christian Center Family of Faith for the last 20 years where he met many Good lifelong friends that he loved dearly and grew in his knowledge and relationship with the Lord which manifested many Miracles and unprecedented marvel's that astounded the medical field many times... This Faith helped him through many challenges and made a way, leading him to Victory even at the end as He Entered into GLORY! He Will Be Greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him and experience his Wisdom, his Quirky Sense of Humor (including sound effects) and His Steady Unwavering Faith in God!
