Mr. Wayne Grissom was born April 26, 1955 in Troup County. He was the son of late William Evans and Hilda Mae Grissom. He was called to his heavenly home on March 10, 2014.

He accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and joined Mt. Perria Baptist Church at an early age.

He graduated from Hogansville High School in 1974 and received an athletic scholarship to North Georgia Tech where he received his degree in Home Appliances and Welding. Wayne was a member of the 1974 Hogansville High Greenwaves State Championship Basketball Team. He also joined the U. S. Army in 1977.

He leaves to cherish his memory six loving children, Tephra Fields of Maysville, GA, Cornlieus Grissom of Hogansville, GA, Lakeisha Grissom Dawson of Hogansville, GA, Wacheria Grissom of Hogansville, GA, Frederick Grissom of Hogansville, GA, Kennovan Grissom; seven grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Grissom of Lagrange, GA; a special friend, Mary Hines; a special aunt, Ruby Hines; special cousins, James Howard and Lillian McLaughlin Beasley; and a host of nephews, and nieces.
