Wendell Anthony Parks was born Nov 3, 1966 in Dayton Ohio to Ludie Sr and June Parks. He attended Calumet for several years. From the beginning it was clear that his path would be unique. Wendell had such an energetic personality. Wendell was full of joy and warmth. He had the power to lift the spirit of anyone that was sad.
Wendell shared a special bond with his family, who has stood by him through every up and down. Family meant everything to Wendell - a source of endless love, support, and stability. Wendell was a cherished family member who brought a unique and irreplaceable light into our lives. He enjoyed family events, because he was able to be the family musician. He turned pots and pans into his own personal drums.
Wendell loved various genres of music. He enjoyed dancing and stomping his feet to any Michael Jackson song. A hobby of his was collecting stuffed animals and toys that played music. He loved banging on the keys of his mothers piano and also tickling the strings on his guitar. Sometimes he even enjoyed banging on his mothers head with his musical Morocco when she slept. Wendell loved his mom and dad. He found comfort when his mother would comb his beautiful curly hair. His fear disappeared when his head was being rubbed. He enjoyed bath time so much. He would stay in the tub until his fingers were like raisins.
Wendell had such a fun spirit. Something else he loved, was having his toes piggy. “This little piggy went to the market. This little piggy stayed home. This little piggy had roast beef. This little piggy had none. This little piggy went we we we we we we we all the way home. His father said the same prayer with him every night. “Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the lord my soul to keep. If I die before I wake. I pray the lord my soul to take. Amen Mama, Amen papa, Amen Wendell. Night night Wendell.
Wendell was proceeded in death by father Ludie Parks, Sr., two brothers Michael Matlock and Darryl Parks, and one sister Michele Parks.
