Obituary

Known to Family and Friends as Billie, Willa Mae, Aunt Billie.  Born January 16, 1911 to Lonnie and Vinia (Robinson) Stokes, in Salisbury, NC.  Grew up in Greenville, SC and Philadelphia, PA where she later married Rabon L. Mosley Sr.  She had two children, Beatrice LaVina and Rabon Lawson Mosley Jr.  Her religious, civic and fraternal activities are numerous, including memberships in Baptist Temple Church.  Since 1934 she attended Mcedonia A.M.E. Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild, The Missionaries, and Steward Board #1.  Lifetime and Heritage member of the Camden Branch of the NAACP (serving on the Executive Board as Vice President), Business & Professional Women's Club of Camden and Vicinity (formerly served as Vice President); Order of the Eastern Stars (Served as Chairman of the Booklet Committee for Oziel Grand Chapter for 8 years, and co-chairperson for nurses unit); Integrity Chapter No. 3, Order of Eastern Stars (served as Worthy Matron); Primose Assembly No. 9, Order of the Golden Circle No. 13; Daughters of Isis (served in the position of Illustrious Commander); Yule Tide Club, which spread cheer at the Lakeland Hospital since 1947 (served as Treasurer); Licensed Practical Nurses Association of Camden, New Jersey and Vicinity; Dr. Howard E. Primas Auxiliary to West Jersey Hospital for 30 years (served as secretary).  In recognition of her service to humanity, many honors were bestowed upon her including "The Jewel Pin," by West Jersey "Appreciation Awards" by the Camden Branch of the NAACP; "Legion of Honor Membership: by the Chapel of the Four Chaplains; "Appreciation Award" by the Association of Negro Business & Professional Women's Club of Camden and Vicinity.  Her interests was always in Nursing and helping others.  She worked as a Private Duty Nurse for years and worked for the Division of Disabilities caring for patients in her home until she was 91.

She graduated from Gloucester Adult High School, receiving her High School Diploma at the age of 85.  Sje generously opened the door to her home to many relatives who needed a new start in life.  She as loving, generous, and protective of her family.  She was survived by a loving family of five generations.  8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren; predeceased by a grandson, Rabon M Jones Sr.

Her Motto in life was "I shall pass through this world but once, any good that I can do or any kindness shown to any human being, let me do it now, let me knot defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again".
