William Albert “Blue“ Harris, 86, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Granville Medical Center.
He was born on June 18, 1932 to the late Louis Taylor Harris, Sr. and Bertha Turner Harris. William was a lifetime farmer and was a former member of the Wilton High School basketball and baseball team. His favorite past time was spending time with his family-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Gray Rock Methodist Church on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, prior to the funeral, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM in the fellowship hall of the church.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Sandra Allen, his sons Gary Harris (Susan), Tobin Harris (Susan) and daughters Teresa Fox and her husband Hugh, who was a special son-in-law, and Lauren Piper (A J) his grandchildren, Brandon Harris, David Harris, Jacob Harris, Brittany Wiggins, Blake Fox, Meredith Elliott, Devin Pettis, Jordan Harris, Brennan Piper and Brayden Piper, his great-grandchildren, Paisley, Brynleigh, Reagan, Grayson, Peyton, Saylor, Kate and Andi, brother, Joseph “Sam” Harris and sister Mae White. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers L.T. Harris, Jr., and Paul Harris and sister, Donie Lovell.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gray Rock Methodist Church, 4173 Gray Rock Rd, Kittrell, NC 27544.
