William A. Lash, III was born on April 30, 1959, to the Union of William Lash II and the late Maggie Anderson Lash. William accepted Christ into his life at a young age under Pastor Carl F. Smith in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1977 graduate of Mifflin High School where he excelled in football. He continued to pursue academics and athletics at Santa Barbara Junior College in California and Central State University in Ohio.
William married the love of his life in 1982. Under the ongoing mentorship and spiritual guidance of Apostle Fred Sanders of Victory Deliverance Church, Columbus, Ohio, William was led by our Lord to spread the Word to a congregation in Dayton, Ohio. For decades, he continued to be a powerful voice in spreading the Word of our Lord. In fact, William continued to distinguish himself in the Apostolic faith by his Ordination as Bishop in 2001 and with his elevation to Apostleship in 2010.
He was proceeded in death twenty-six months ago by his beloved daughter, Brittany K. T. Lash; sisters, Victoria Lash and Jacquelyn Bradley; brother, Gary Lash; and his mother, Maggie Anderson Lash.
His love and dedication to his family was also profound. He leaves to celebrate his life his beloved wife of 38 years, Kendall D. Lash; son, William A. Lash IV, Dublin, Ohio; daughters, Minounique Lash, Columbus, Ohio, Kimberly D. Huff (Jermainne)Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and Tanya Lash. Grandsons, William A. Lash V (Taj), Bryson L. Lash, and Marc A. Wheat Jr.; father, William Lash II, sister, Brenda Tucker (Daryl); sisters-in-law, Karen Fallings, Kelly Brown-Douglas (Lamont); brothers-in-law, William Brown Jr. (Krista) and Robert Bradley; aunt, Barbara Joe Franklin and a host of other family and friends.
William also leaves to celebrate his life, his spiritual father of 36 years, Apostle Fred Sanders as well as his beloved congregation, The City of Victory Deliverance Ministries of Dayton, Ohio.
Bishop Lash was instrumental in bringing additional communities of faith into the Victory Deliverance Fellowship of Churches. Bishop Lash’s faith was limitless, and his generosity of spirit and time was without measure. The thousands of people who were blessed to know him always attested to his faith, wisdom, and generosity. William’s presence among us was a blessing. His love and leadership to the church and his family will endure and serve as an example to others.
The Funeral Service for Bishop Lash is on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Bethesda Temple, 3701 Salem Ave, Dayton, Ohio. Family Visitation is at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Service is at 11:00 a.m.
