William A. Lash, III was born on April 30, 1959, to the Union of William Lash II and the late Maggie Anderson Lash. William accepted Christ into his life at a young age under Pastor Carl F. Smith in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 1977 graduate of Mifflin High School where he excelled in football. He continued to pursue academics and athletics at Santa Barbara Junior College in California and Central State University in Ohio.

William married the love of his life in 1982. Under the ongoing mentorship and spiritual guidance of Apostle Fred Sanders of Victory Deliverance Church, Columbus, Ohio, William was led by our Lord to spread the Word to a congregation in Dayton, Ohio. For decades, he continued to be a powerful voice in spreading the Word of our Lord. In fact, William continued to distinguish himself in the Apostolic faith by his Ordination as Bishop in 2001 and with his elevation to Apostleship in 2010.

He was proceeded in death twenty-six months ago by his beloved daughter, Brittany K. T. Lash; sisters, Victoria Lash and Jacquelyn Bradley; brother, Gary Lash; and his mother, Maggie Anderson Lash.

His love and dedication to his family was also profound. He leaves to celebrate his life his beloved wife of 38 years, Kendall D. Lash; son, William A. Lash IV, Dublin, Ohio; daughters, Minounique Lash, Columbus, Ohio, Kimberly D. Huff (Jermainne)Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and Tanya Lash. Grandsons, William A. Lash V (Taj), Bryson L. Lash, and Marc A. Wheat Jr.; father, William Lash II, sister, Brenda Tucker (Daryl); sisters-in-law, Karen Fallings, Kelly Brown-Douglas (Lamont); brothers-in-law, William Brown Jr. (Krista) and Robert Bradley; aunt, Barbara Joe Franklin and a host of other family and friends.

William also leaves to celebrate his life, his spiritual father of 36 years, Apostle Fred Sanders as well as his beloved congregation, The City of Victory Deliverance Ministries of Dayton, Ohio.

Bishop Lash was instrumental in bringing additional communities of faith into the Victory Deliverance Fellowship of Churches. Bishop Lash’s faith was limitless, and his generosity of spirit and time was without measure. The thousands of people who were blessed to know him always attested to his faith, wisdom, and generosity. William’s presence among us was a blessing. His love and leadership to the church and his family will endure and serve as an example to others.
The Funeral Service for Bishop Lash is on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Bethesda Temple, 3701 Salem Ave, Dayton, Ohio. Family Visitation is at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Service is at 11:00 a.m.

To my pastor,
It was 13 years of righteousness from the time I met you. I grew in the word because I chose to stand with you. Weather rain or storm pleasant winds or sunshine. I have seen the glory of God from time to time. You taught me the word of God which changed me and it show William A. Lash The Apostle the greatest man I know. Never forgotten.

Stay Christed Up!

My dear Bishop, I have learned so much from all of his devout teachings and his preaching is like no other! My spiritual father had patience enough to usher me into receiving the gift of speaking in tongues, and that I will never ever forget! I’m so thankful for all the times I needed him he was there, no matter if it was just to pray for me and my family or to offer up spiritual guidance and/or understanding, he would reply “I am duty bound”. My love for the entire Lash family runs deep and I’m excited to contribute to continuing on with his vision and legacy!
