Grandad, can't believe you left us over a year ago now. In true Luke tradition we celebrated your life with a meal out! Nana paid....as I know you used to like to treat us all whenever we were up to visit. We also planted some lovely plants in Nana's new garden as we know how much you loved the garden. I think about you every day and have your photo on my phone, love you always, Julia

It's hard to believe that a year has gone by since you were taken from us; but there is not a day goes by without you being thought about. Nanna is doing really well and has settled in her new flat. We've bought some gorgeous plants that have been planted in Nanna's new garden; she is able to look at them out of her window and be reminded of you. Loving you always, Sharon & Tom xx

Things I miss about Grandad !

June 10, 2012

Grandad, when you were alive, we used to laugh at you and the stories you would repeatedly tell us but I would love to have the opportunity to hear those stories just one more time...

- The nurse came the other day and I asked her, how old do you think I am? When I told her I was 91, she couldn't believe it - she only thought I was in my 70's (with a very smug look on his face)

-   The Station Club had a fantastic turn on last weekend, the best I've ever seen, knowing he hadn't been for months due to his ill-health

- The weather up here has been beautiful, better than down south - even though we knew fine well, it hadn't been that good - there was no-where quite like Bedlington Station  !!

But despite these stories, we loved you so much and you were such a massive part of our lives.  You and Nana were the glue that held the family together and I just wanted me and Chris to be like you two.

After you left us, I missed the sticky chair with jam on it, crumbs on the floor under your armchair and all the things you used to leave lying around.

Hopefully you are in a happy place and looking down on us.  If you are, you will know that you are sorely missed and still a big part of our lives!!

Love you always xxxxx
