William Thomas Bailey, 74, a lifetime resident of Stem, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at his home.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late Benjamin “Bill” and Virginia Walters Bailey, retired from NC Department of Corrections and was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of Stem United Methodist Church and a very active member of the Stem Ruritan Club. “Will Tom’s” greatest love was to teach anyone to fish and show them where the big catch was to be found.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 26, 2012 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Pastor Craig Currin. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joyce B. Bailey of the home, a daughter, Lori B. Boykin of Stem, a son, Thomas E. Bailey (Michelle) of Stem, a step-son, Scott Powers (Maggie & family) of Florida and one granddaughter, Taylor Bailey.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and other times at the home of Lori B. Boykin, 3196 East Thollie Green Road, Stem, North Carolina.
Flowers permitted or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
