William Charles Soden (Bill Redheart) went home to be with his creator on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

He was 65 years old and was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa.  He has resided in Barrington, NJ for the past 39 years.

Loving husband to Deborah Soden (Magown) and loving father to his daughter Amy Soden and son Justin Soden. Loving son to Anne Soden and the late Charles Soden and mother in law Betty Magown, and brother Gary Soden. Loving brother to brother in law Scott Magown and sister in law Carol and brother in law Craig Magown and sister in law Beth and loving Uncle to his nephews Brandon and Steven Magown. He also leaves behind his two precious kitties, Kola and Baby Girl, who brought him so much joy!

Bill worked for Kennedy Hospital in Washington Twp., NJ for the past 25 years. He cared deeply about making things right and improving things there always giving his best and doing the right thing!  He made many good friends there over the years with his great sense of humor and kind caring heart. He was a hard working man who would take on multiple jobs always trying to give his family a better life. In his younger years Bill served in the Navy and got to experience being at sea and traveling to distant ports.  In later years he took up scuba diving and enjoyed exploring all the underwater life.

He loved nature, from just being in the woods, camping with our family, to hunting with his friends.  Through his love of nature being shared with his children he gave them the gift of exploration and peace that nature brings. Bill found his heart with the Native American culture and has made many loving friends going to powwows over the years .  He loved drumming and being with his people.

Bill was a kind and loving soul who deeply felt people's pain and was always ready to listen and help his many friends and his family.   He loved helping others and did so in our community for many years going out on many fire calls with our Fire Department and being an EMT and taking many ambulance calls.  He also helped by being a fire inspector in our town.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all the people he has touched!

We are glad that his mind and body have at last found peace and wish him joy on his new journey that has begun in his Creators arms!

Bill will be buried in a beautiful natural setting at the Steelmantown Natural Burial Preserve, 101 Steelmantown Rd., Steelmantown (Woodbine) NJ. Service will be at 1pm on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the cemetery.

Bill and his son Justin were members of Boy Scout Troop 96 in Barrington. Bill taught the Scouts first aid and instructed us in CPR. Those skill live on in those young men, many who have families of their own now. Those skills will be passed on. I recently learned of Bill's illness from Justin who is a friend of my daughter. I am cruelty regretful that I was not able to visit him before his passing. My sincere sympathies to his family. Rest in peace Bill, your life was shared with many.
