His Life

William Farris Dale

      Bill (Teeny, to his family) was born on December 26, 1922, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, His parents were, Ed and Cora. He was the youngest son with nine brothers and sisters: Mae, Johnnie, Clay. Iva, James, Everett, Mary and Martha.

     He enlisted in the Army the January 21, 1943 and served his country as a warrant officer until he was honorably discharged on Marth 9, 1946. 

    On November 15, 1947 he married Mary Oakley in their home town. Together they raised 9 children: Four sons and five daughters. 

   He retired to Dayton in 1983 and died on May 26, 1993, at the age of 70. He was laid to rest in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery because he had a granddaughter (Jodi)  and great granddaughter (Casey) buried there and he wanted to be close to his babies. His wife joined him 10 years later and is buried at his side. Their daughter Linda was waiting to welcome them into heaven.
