You were always helping others, going above and beyond with our family, your church community, and everyone you knew. To the very end you thought about doing what’s right. We love you, Dad! It’s comforting to think of you with Mom.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend to many. He will forever be missed. He was a humble man and appreciated everything and everyone. I am grateful to have had a wonderful father in law and to know how much he loved me. -- I will miss you Dad and know that your prayers were answered. I will see you again. xoxo

His Life
February 13, 2019

William George Kronmiller, known to his wife and close friends as “Kronny” or “Bill”, passed away at Jeanes Hospital on February 4, 2019, at the age of 89 years.

Bill was born on December 30, 1929 and grew up in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. He graduated in 1947 from Frankford High School and served in the United States Army from 1951 – 1953. Bill was a veteran of the Korean War where he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. On April 15, 1952, he married Peggy Ann (nee Savage) and after returning from Alaska they made their home and raised their three children in the Torresdale section of Northeast Philadelphia.

He worked as a lineman for the Bell Telephone Company until his retirement in 1993. In retirement, he was known as “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren and was grateful for the opportunity to care for and spend time with his six grandchildren. In his younger days, Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his childhood friends. He loved crossword puzzles, reading, and taking naps. Bill also loved to watch sports -- especially golf, the Eagles, Flyers and Phillies. Everyone who met Bill liked him. He was a humble, kind man and a complete gentleman. Bill never liked to impose on people and was always grateful for everything in his life. He was a devoted husband, caring father, and loving grandfather. Bill was the epitome of a “good man”. He was a devout Christian and active member of Rhawnhurst Presbyterian Church. He served in many ways including singing in the choir, serving as an elder, and volunteering alongside Peggy each summer for Vacation Bible School.

Bill lived out his final months at Wesley Enhanced Living Burlhome where he left his mark on the staff and residents. He was grateful to have made new friends and remain active. Regular highlights included playing cards, “gassing” with the guys, and movie night.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Eugene and Carrie (nee Swetzel) Kronmiller, his loving wife of 65 years, Peggy Ann Kronmiller, and his sister, Carol Bell. He is survived by his children Thomas (Annette) Kronmiller of Chapel Hill, NC; William D. (Linnea) Kronmiller of Doylestown, PA; and Michele Mai of Philadelphia, PA. He will be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Gregory, Cailyn, Jennifer, Ryan, Max (Georgeanne), and Jacob. He will also be forever remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
