Billy Kane, age 63, passed suddenly on February 18, 2016, after a long illness related to a gastro-intestinal disorder.

Billy grew up in central Pennsylvania frequently visiting neighbors and friends in Wormleysburg and Carlisle.  Billy loved music and cars. He assembled an incredible record, cassette tape, and music CD collection and spent many hours attending Carlisle Car Shows.  He also loved to spend time with his family for holidays (especially Christmas) and vacations.  Billy made two trips to Disney World (including plane rides) and numerous trips to Sea Isle City at the Jersey Shore.  Although he had learning disabilities, he lived independently for a number of years in Carlisle after his mother’s and father’s passing.  He became ill suddenly in 2007 and transitioned into a nursing home where he spent the past nine years.

Billy was pre-deceased by his mother Janet M. Kane and father Theodore (Ted) Kane.   He leaves behind his brothers Ted Kane and Jay Kane, sister-in-law Roberta Kane, nephews Bryan and Steven, and niece Jennifer.

Billy especially loved his nursing home friends and the Staff at Barclays Rehabilitation Center (formerly Manor Care) of Cherry Hill.  The Staff members took Billy “under their wing” the instant he arrived at Manor Care and looked out for him through his time there.  He became a fixture as he “wheeled” through the corridors of Manor Care and stopped to talk.  Billy also appreciated the cards and newsletters from the congregation of Carlisle First Church of God who remained in contact with him until his passing.

Billy will be interred next to his mother and father at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Columbia, Pennsylvania.

A memorial service for Billy will be held at Apostles Lutheran Church, 4401 Black Horse Pike (Route 42), Turnersville, NJ  08012 on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
