William Carter Brooks-Lee was born on July 13, 1944 to the parents of the late Will Ella Boyd and the late William Lee in Chambers County, AL.  He was also raised by his step-father, the late Arthur Brooks. William departed this life on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his residence.

“Carter,” as he was known by many attended and graduated from Centennial High School in Compton, California in 1962. He attended Compton College in Compton, California.  Carter found pleasure residing in California, Alabama and Georgia as either William Carter Brooks or William Carter Lee. 

At a young age William Carter Brooks-Lee married ReJean Sistrunk whom he called “Ree” in 1962 from this union three children were born.

Carter had a love and passion for music, food, partying and having a good time. His music career started at a very young age and continued until his passing. Williams Carter Brooks-Lee was also known as “MBD” a name which he was very proud of. He also enjoyed sharing his music and lyrics with others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, ReJean Brooks, and a brother, Lieutenant Boyd.

William Carter Brooks-Lee leaves to mourn four daughters: Jeanette Abney of Oceanside, CA; Javonne Brooks of Phoenix, Arizona, Angel Brooks of Goodyear, Arizona, Malika Lee of West Point, GA; a special daughter, Symantha Evans of Mesa, Arizona; one son, Rodreika(Tracey) Avery of West Point, Georgia; siblings,  Cecelia Brooks, Delores Brooks, Lloyd Brooks, Shauna Brooks, and Elizabeth Waters; special friend ,Daryl; grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of family members and MBD Fans
