William Edward Mangum,79, a resident of 2651 Highway 56 East, Creedmoor died Tuesday, December 21st at Durham Regional Hospital.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late William W. and Grace Tunstall Mangum. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and retired from Pilot Freight Company.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 24th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church by Dr. Marc Tilley and Rev. Tommy Robertson. Burial will be in Creedmoor Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Sarah Belle Averette Mangum of the home, two sons, Earl T. (Margie) Mangum, David R. (Hope) Mangum, both of Creedmoor and a granddaughter, Kimberly M. Mangum.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, December 24th prior to the service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
