his Life

William Shifflett

Will and I "met" on a popular social media app and met for the first time in person at Planet Fitness in Enid, Ok. We spent about an hour or so going through one of his lifting routines and just laughing the entire time. It was so easy to talk to Will about any and every subject under the sun. One of the things I loved most about Will, aside from his incredible connection with his kids, was the fact that he was always seeking to learn something new. He had this incredible bank of information covering all sorts of subjects. We could sit and talk for hours.

After that first meeting, Will and I were constantly talking and getting together to workout or just hang out. I met his boys and he met my daughter for the first time while hanging out at the OSU pool. One of Will's favorite memories (or at least he told the story pretty frequently) was from that day. After hanging out at the pool for a couple of hours we went and got drinks before going home. On that drive to get drinks Wyatt told Will 'I know you love her, Dad". Anyone who knew Will knew how close and open he was with his boys, and how much Wyatt loved doing exactly like Will did.

Will had a huge impact on all those around him, not just us. He could make friends with anyone in almost every situation. It was so funny sometimes because I was way more introverted than he was, but he pushed me to grow and learn so much. Will was a huge education advocate, constantly looking for something to learn so he could continue to make our lives better as well as show the children what hard work, dedication and education could give.
