His Life
November 13, 2012

Bill was born on May 22, 1932. He was the youngest of five children. He was of Protestant faith. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. At one time Bill owned a junk-yard in Arkansas but he retired as an electrician's helper.

Bill was the Father of five children. Tragically, two of his daughters passed away (Geraldine 11 and Diana 8) in a drowning accident on June 10, 1962. Bill struggled with alcoholism for some time but he was able to overcome it and turn it into a positive. He spent his time sponsoring others with addiction problems. He always made himself available to others not matter the time, day or night. He would not hesitate to go to anyone in need. He always had something witty to say and could make you laugh no matter how down-and-out you may be feeling. Tragedy struck again in Bill's life on September 25, 1991 when his Granddaughter Mary Lacy (8) died in an automobile accident. In the years that followed Bill had several heart surgeries. Bill was a family man and stayed very involved with his nieces and nephews in Missouri. In 2000 his baby girl Karen (mother to Mary) moved to Missouri to live with him. They were both ill but they managed to take very good care of each other. I think just the company and laughter that they shared was therapeutic to them both.  In early 2011 Bill's health was failing. On February 20, 2011 Bill passed away, leaving Karen and everyone else who has the pleasure of knowing him devistated. His charm and keen personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He was survived by his son Perry, his daughter Rema and his daughter Karen. Also, four Grandchildren Anthony, Angela, Amanda and Amy and Bill had 6 Great-grandchildren Robert, Lacy, Samantha, Hayden, Emily and Devin.
