William Riley Sanders, Jr. of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Hospice LaGrange.

Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 11:00 AM from the graveside in Oakwood Cemetery.

 

The family will greet friends Tuesday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McCarthy Funeral Home.

My Darling Bill, I'm the luckiest person in the world to have been able to take care of you the past few months. I've learned so much from you, and I've learned that no matter how much I have done, it wasn't enough, because you deserve so much more. In all the years I've known you since you were 2 yrs old, I can honestly say you never told me anything that wasn't true. Missing you always, Your Sis, Tandy

Mr. Bill was an exceptional man. I enjoyed the 5 years we worked together at the LaGrange airport. I have many fond memories of him that I will carry with me. Countless hours of history lessons from him!

The Air Show

My moma told me many times about when my daddy took Bill to an air show when he was 2 years old.  Daddy held Bill up as high as he could hold him and said, "You see that, you'll be doing that one day".  Bill was 2 years old the year I was born in 1943.  

Daddy bought Bill small airplanes to put together when he was very young, as he grew older, he would get him airplanes with motors and sometimes they would crash.  It was Daddy's dream for Bill to be a pilot and that dream came true.
